Chapter 875
“Who are you looking for?” the woman asked, looking slightly surprised to see Genevieve.
Genevieve saw the woman taking out her keys from her pocket and guessed that she might be the housekeeper.
“Mia is my mom. I just want to take a look at my grandparents' house,” Genevieve replied before showing the
woman a few photos of her and her mother.
After verifying Genevieve's identity, the woman appeared to be more relaxed and opened the door for her to enter.
Genevieve got to know that the woman's last name was Roberts and that her mother had worked for the Quinn
family previously. After the death of Old Mr. Quinn and his wife, Mrs. Roberts' health condition deteriorated and was
no longer able to look after the property. As such, she ended up moving in with her brother. Mrs. Roberts and her
family were currently living in the old bungalow as her son was studying in the area.
Mrs. Roberts' entire family stayed on the first floor. She had been taking good care of the property over the years
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtand did not allow anyone to go upstairs to the second floor.
After knowing that Genevieve was there to look for her mother's belongings, Mrs. Roberts took Genevieve upstairs
to the second floor.
Genevieve searched her mother's old bedroom and found a photo album which was kept in a drawer.
As the photo album was locked, Genevieve found a tool to pry open the lock. When she looked through the album,
she saw that there were no childhood photos but only a few photos of her mother as an adult.
Just then, one special photo caught Genevieve's attention.
It was a photo of a man who was dressed in a black shirt rimmed with gold threads. He was leaning against the
couch in a relaxed manner and had an imposing presence.
The man had well-sculpted features and a pair of deep-set purple eyes. He was cocking his eyebrows and had a
cigarette in his mouth as he smiled at the camera.
The subtle smirk on his face, combined with his attractive features and refined appearance, added to his allure.
The reflection of the woman taking the photo could be seen in the man's clear purple eyes, which were filled with
gentleness and affection.
Genevieve had visited many countries with her children previously and had encountered all sorts of people.
However, she had not met anyone who had purple eyes.
Even though the man in her mother's photo album did not seem familiar to her, Genevieve was sure that he was a
special person to her mother.
Most likely, he was one of her mother's ex-boyfriends.
As Genevieve's parents had both passed away and she was not interested in her mother's private affairs, she put
the photo album back into the drawer after locking it. Then, she headed to her grandparents' room to continue her
search.
However, after searching the entire house, including the storeroom, Genevieve was still unable to find a single
photo of her mother from when she was a child.
As such, Genevieve approached Mrs. Roberts and asked, “Have you thrown anything away while tidying the house
after my grandparents passed away?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“I didn't remove anything other than some old clothes,” the woman answered.
Genevieve felt slightly perplexed after hearing that.
That was the house her mother had grown up in. If Mrs. Roberts had not thrown anything away and nothing had
happened to the house, it did not make sense to her that there was not even a single childhood photo of her
mother in the house.
Wouldn't Granddad have at least taken pictures of Mom on her birthdays?
While Genevieve was deep in thought, she received a call from Yuvan. “Genevieve, I'm in Jadeborough, and I've
something for you. Where are you now?”
Genevieve guessed that the man's talk with Mindy had reached a conclusion. Coincidentally, she was going to look
for Yuvan to ask him something as well.
“I'm in the southern district now and will reach the city in about one and a half hours,” Genevieve replied while
glancing at her watch before continuing, “Meet me at the restaurant at seven thirty p.m. later. I'll treat you to
dinner.”
“Sure.”
After hanging up, Genevieve handed a wad of cash to Mrs. Roberts and said, “Please help me check with your mom
if she had seen any of my mom's childhood photos.”
“Oh, no problem.” Mrs. Roberts kept the cash and saved Genevieve's number in her phone.
