Chapter 584
Soon, a few more people boarded the cruise ship.
With the retro look Jane did for her and her custom-made pink fishtail dress, Charlotte was the most cye-catching woman on the entire cruise.
Once Charlotte showed up, the other socialites all rushed over to lavish praises on her. They all wanted a photo with her to brag on their Instagram.
After all, those that could attend Charlotte’s party were considered Charlotte’s friends.
Coco was determined to be acquainted with Miles. Since Sylvie was Miles’ cousin, Coco had been doing her best to appease Sylvic ever since Sylvie arrived.
Even though they were both in the entertainment industry, Sylvic began looking down on Coco afier becoming the Zeigler family’s granddaughter. However, she didn’t show her contempt and merely chatted with Coco happily.
Meanwhile, Genevieve remained on the sidelines, silently watching the women’s battle.
Sylvie wants to get an international award so badly that I wonder if she‘ll fight Coco for it. That‘ll be fun to patch.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAboard the cruise ship, the mega-rich, young socialites, and heirs from wealthy and powerful families partied wildly.
Bottles of red wine amounting to one hundred thousand were opened one after the other. Some even cost hundreds of thousands. As everyone chatted, they enjoyed the wine and savored the scrumptious, fancy dishes.
The fragrance of the wine gently coated Genevieve’s tongue when a craving for beef bourguignon struck her. The more she thought about it, the more hungry she felt.
With that thought in mind, the beef on her plate tasted bland in comparison.
She reached for her phone and instinctively wanted to tell Bruce about her craving. Yet, when she toggled into WhatsApp, she couldn’t find Bruce’s number.
After a while, she finally remembered she had blocked Bruce’s number back at the golf club.
Morcover, Bruce was sull filming in Frosa.
Genevieve rubbed her face, feeling something was wrong with her. That actor keeps popping into my mind from time to time. Maybe Mrs. Hossler was right. His good looks had me enchanted.
After their meal, the crowd filtered into the nightclub. Rather than dancing, Charlotte was more interested in playing cards, so she dragged a few girls with her to the card room.
However, not many dared to play cards with Charlotte.
Those who played against Charlotte before knew the bets were always high, and they wouldn’t
even think about winning against Charlottc with her as the banker. In the end, thcy suffered huge losses.
In truth, not many socialites were actual socialites. Most of them were penniless and only got on the cruise ship through connections.
Charlotte called for Genevieve to come up to the table, but Genevieve shook her head. “I can do Gin Rummy but not poker, li’ll be bad if I cmbarrass myself up there.”
A gleam flashed past Coco’s eyes as she filed that piccc of information away in her mind.
After playing two rounds, one of the socialites couldn’t handle the high bets anymore and faked discomfort to ilce from the game.
Coco seized the opportunity and said, “Ms. Rachford, come and play with us.”
Genevieve shook her head. “I don’t know how.”
“You can learn.” Sylvic took a sip of tisanc. “Lottie had also invited you earlier. It’ll be rude if you reject us again.”
“Yeah.” Coco tilted her head to the side and flashed Genevieve a smile. “Or do you not want to play cards with us?”
Genevieve noticed none of the socialites had the intention to join. Thus, after brief contemplation, she finally went up to take a seat beside Sylvie. “Okay then, but I really have no clue about the rules, so I’ll just be learning for the first two rounds.”
“Sure.” A sweet smile stretched across Coco’s lips.
Genevieve reached for her cards clumsily and arranged them in sequence. As her hands moved, she took the time to ask Coco about the rules.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmGenevieve was just like any other beginner. Even though she didn’t flash any of her cards, the way she arranged her cards and the look on her face gave clear indications to Coco about her hand of cards.
“Two pairs,” Genevieve exclaimed.
Coco immediately showed her cards and covered her mouth. “Sorry, I win.”
Coco and Sylvie might not dare to win against Charlotte, but they didn’t hesitate to win over Genevieve. They had pulled out all the stops just to win against Genevieve. Before the first round even ended, they’ve already won nearly three hundred thousand from Genevieve.
Halfway through the game. Charlotte’s phone rani. She went to answer the call and let the others take her place on the table.
Once Charlotte stepped out of the room, Sylvie and Coco exchanged a glance.
Coco began, “Since you’re already familiar with the rules, Ms. Rachford, you’ll be winning soon.”
Genevieve’s eyes brightened as she said, “I think so too. I never thought poker could be so fun. I have a feeling that I’ll win the next round. Let’s continuel”
When the deck was shuffled, Sylvie asked nonchalantly, “It’s boring if we keep betting money. How about we bet something else?”
