Chapter 203 Isabella’s Determination
“I’ve made up my mind to marry him in this lifetime.” Isabella clenched her teeth and pondered for a moment. “If
Braxton tries to stop or reject me because of this, I’ll remove my uterus. By then, I want to see if he’ll still be willing
to marry me.”
Freya gritted her teeth, wishing she could deliver a swift reprimand to Isabella.
“What are you thinking?”
Despite expressing her concern, Freya couldn’t help but comprehend Isabella’s unyielding determination.
In truth, she hadn’t disclosed that she had already kept Braxton in the dark about their situation.
Freya wanted to gauge Isabella’s attitude, and had she shown the slightest hesitation, Freya would have decided to
return home and prioritize Braxton’s illness before making any decisions.
Otherwise, it would have been unfair to Isabella.
Seeing her resolute stance, Freya sighed. “I’ve kept this from Brax.”
“Keeping him from what?” Isabella looked puzzled.
“I studied medicine, and my skills are quite decent. Ever since I found out about your situation with Brax, I’ve been
anxious. But he wouldn’t allow me to tell you.
“You’ve been aware all this time?” Isabella’s eyes widened in surprise.
Freya nodded solemnly. “Back in Vroria, I couldn’t bear seeing the turmoil between both of you. That’s when I
decided to deceive Brax by telling him there’s a treatment available, which sparked a glimmer of hope in him.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWith widened eyes, Isabella questioned, “Aren’t you lying to him? What if he finds out the truth?”
With a sigh, Freya explained, “His illness is considered incurable for now, but it doesn’t require any revolutionary
medical breakthroughs. We just need to solve a small, challenging problem, and there might be a chance.”
She continued, “I’ve already gathered some top scholars in the medical field to work on it together. If we succeed,
we might be able to cure him. However, the process will undoubtedly be lengthy, even up to tent years.”
Isabella looked pleasantly surprised. “I don’t mind how long it takes. I just want to be with Braxton. Of course, it
would be best if he recovers, but if not, it’s alright.”
Understanding Isabella’s feelings, Freya nodded again. “Initially, I thought of resolving the problem before telling
you the truth. But seeing you shutting yourself away for over half a month, and Brax reduced to a lifeless state, I
couldn’t bear it any longer.”
A faint blush tinged Isabella’s cheeks, and Freya found it intriguing. What is making her feel shy at this
moment?
“Izzy, Brax now firmly believes he’ll be cured within two years, so he’ll come to you soon,” Freya whispered. “I
guess he’ll be honest with you. Brax’s hope is based on a lie. However, I shouldn’t have kept this from you.”
Regretful, Freya admitted, “So, I came here today to reveal the truth in advance. Brax thinks he can be cured, but
it’s just an empty promise I made.”
Isabella fell silent, calmly gazing at Freya.
In a moment of spontaneity, Isabella stretched out her arms and pulled Freya into a warm, tight hug. playfully
planting a series of affectionate pecks on her cheek.
“Thank you for the hopeful promise, Freya! I’ve been feeling so lost lately that I don’t want to go on anymore. Your
idea might be deceptive, but I can’t imagine my life without him. Even if he gets angry upon discovering the truth,
I’ll handle it.”
Freya chuckled softly. “I’ve been thinking the same thing.”
With their hands tightly clasped, they exchanged knowing smiles.
This emotional ordeal had finally come to an end, and Freya felt a sense of relief.
They strolled and talked, surrounded by the beautiful garden. Worried about Freya’s condition, Isabella urged her to
rest.
“Let’s go back. We have a new chef at home, and the snacks they make are fabulous.”
However, Freya raised an eyebrow, sensing something amiss.
“Aren’t you practically fasting these days? Are you sure those snacks are appealing to you?”
Caught in a moment of internal conflict, Isabella fell silent.
Freya squinted her eyes, her intuition sensing there was more to the story.
“Tell me, is there something else you’re keeping from me?” As they approached the villa, their conversation
continued.
Inside, the housemaid stood holding a new, untouched bedsheet. Everyone in the living room fixed their gaze on
the bedsheet.
Unveiling the sheet, a myriad of snacks spilled out-packaged in bags, bottles, and wrappings-offering a delightful
mix of flavors.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmEmily’s face flushed with anger. “This girl! I thought she was starving herself, and I cried every day because of it.”
Ron sneered.
Even James, who stood nearby, was taken aback. “But Miss Parker has indeed lost weight.”
Jonas glanced at Freya and Isabella, who had just entered the room, his voice cold. “Of course, she did, by skipping
proper meals and munching on all these snacks.”
The atmosphere in the room revealed the hidden sense of embarrassment that Isabella had earlier when Freya
mentioned her seclusion.
It turned out she felt guilty.
Realizing the extent of her efforts during the past half-month, Freya felt outraged. She had worked day
and night on the medical plan, fearing that something might go wrong with Isabella.
This was just too much.
Without hesitation, Freya walked over and pulled Isabella out of the room, firmly taking Jonas’ side.
Although they scolded Isabella, they secretly felt relieved when they saw the pile of snacks.
Freya’s visit had brought Isabella out of her room, and the Parkers were grateful for it.
Jonas had always liked Freya, considering her a part of the family.
During lunch, the Parkers prepared a table full of Freya’s favorite dishes.
Emily filled Freya’s bowl with food, apologizing with a smile, “Frey, I got carried away earlier. I thought she fought
with you, but I realize I was wrong. Please don’t be upset with me.”
Freya smiled. “Mrs. Parker, I’m not upset at all. You are Izzy’s mother, and I see you as a family member. I’ll never
be angry with you.”
“Frey, you have such a sweet way with words.” Emily was pleased by Freya’s response.
