Chapter 190 Don’t Disappoint Me

Luke listened, his expression darkening.

However, he gently persuaded, “This outfit looks great on you; the color suits you well. Trust me, just wear this

one.”

Linda, dissatisfied, raised her voice. “Besides the color, which is acceptable, what’s so good about this outfit? The

style is simply hideous. Luke, I’m a celebrity after all. So many people are watching. How can I go around wearing

this?”

“Can you please find me another one?” she pleaded softly.

Luke thought Linda had a point, but he had already quickly scanned through the clothes in the store in his mind.

In the end, his search showed that most of the other clothes were a bit revealing in one way or another.

Some had low necklines, some had lace cutouts at the waist, and others were just too sexy.

Therefore, Luke didn’t agree.

Linda also didn’t agree to wear this one, so the two of them reached a deadlock.

Finally, Luke looked at her and said in a semi-threatening tone, “Right now, in the fitting room, there’s only this

outfit in my hand. It’s either you wear this, or you don’t wear anything at all. I’ll wrap you up in my coat and take

you back.”

Linda was startled.

In the end, she could only compromise and put on the extremely conservative dress that Luke had chosen for her.

It was a black maxi dress that covered her from head to toe, not even revealing her ankles.

Nancy coldly raised an eyebrow and swiftly intercepted her hand in mid-air. “Alice, I used to be too kind to you,

which gave you the audacity to provoke me. Now, listen carefully. From now on, I won’t let you bully me, let alone

let you have the upper hand over me. You better rein yourself in. This is our first and last encounter. I don’t want

you to regret it with tears streaming down your

face.”

Who knew, when Alice heard Nancy’s words, she laughed like it was the biggest joke in the world. One of her hands

cradled her stomach, while the other pointed at Nancy. She was laughing so hard she was almost out of breath.

“Haha, make me regret? Nancy, did you look in the mirror when you said that? What makes you think you could

marry my brother Nicholas, if not for Grandpa? With your gambler of a dad and your pitiful, wretched family

background, if it weren’t for you saving Grandpa’s life, you wouldn’t even be worthy to kneel before the Sallows. If

you’ve got any sense left, I advise you to gracefully step down from the position of Mrs. Sallow. That position

belongs to Madelline, and her, no one else is fit for it.”

Nancy sneered.

She couldn’t believe that even now, Alice was still a die-hard fan of Madelline, always staunchly supporting her.

However, it had to be said that this kind of support was quite touching.

“Speaking of which, I’m really envious of Madelline to have a sister like you who’s so devoted to her.”

“Of course, Madelline is the only one in my heart who’s worthy of my brother. You simply can’t replace her.”

Alice was so arrogant even though she was oblivious to that. If she were to find out they were. already divorced,

who knew how much more arrogant she’d become?

“Nancy, let me tell you, don’t get too complacent. It won’t be long before that position belongs to Madelline. Do you

think Madelline has lost just because she’s gone abroad? No, she’s bound to be the ultimate winner. Just watch and

see.”

Nancy didn’t have time to bother with her and continued walking, her steps determined.

Just as Nancy was getting further away, suddenly, Alice shouted at the top of her lungs, “Nancy, my brother is going

on a business trip abroad this time. Haven’t you ever thought he might run into Madelline?”

Sure enough, Nancy’s steps halted.

Seeing Nancy’s psychological defenses starting to crumble, Alice pushed further. “Guess what might happen

between them? Or better yet, will they reconcile as if nothing ever happened?”

Nancy admitted that ever since Nicholas mentioned going abroad, she had thought about this, and she worried

about it too.

But at this moment, when Alice spilled it all out, she suddenly felt relieved because she realized that worrying about

it wouldn’t change a thing.

Instead of worrying, she chose to wait in peace.

Nancy turned around, her black eyes looking at Alice firmly. “Maybe you’re right. They might meet, and they might

even sit down together. But I believe in Nicholas.”

“Heh…” Alice sneered. “Nancy, don’t you know the biggest lie in this world is a man’s sweet talk?”

“But he’s your brother.”

“So what if he’s my brother? I’ll say it again, men’s words are as trustworthy as pigs flying. Besides, my uncle has

the genes for infidelity. He’s my uncle’s son, so do you really believe he can stay faithful?”

Taking a deep breath, Nancy nodded again, her gaze determined.

“Yes, I believe. I believe in Nicholas, and I believe in my husband.”

With that said, she didn’t even look back and left the mall directly..

Naney’s heart was uneasy, and she was restless.

However, she constantly reminded herself to remain composed. She couldn’t afford to lose her composure,

otherwise she would provide an opportunity for the plotters.

On the journey back, the moon appeared large, emitting an exceptionally bright light that cast a pristine white glow

upon the path.

Nancy gazed upwards, suddenly realizing the extent to which she longed for him.

“Nicholas, how are things over there? Is the moon as round and radiant? Despite not knowing the outcome, this

time I want to have faith in you. I want to wholeheartedly believe in you, just as I did when I chose to marry you

without hesitation. So, will you disappoint me?”
