Chapter 3607 Retreat

Nobody talked, nobody said anything, and everybody looked at the Sky Sovereigns above.

Me and my clones are tracking their every movement through our soul senses. I don't want to miss anything, especially now.

"The battle isn't over till the last one of you filthy native is dead!" roared the Salamanderman and vast lightning attacked all the native Sky Sovereigns, which they defend.

However, the purpose of it had been accomplished.

It showed their intention to fight, and with that; we have begun fighting again.

Within a minute, Sky Sovereign died, and it is ours, and one which I had helped, but a few minutes after that another and then another half an hour later, both were the Grimms.

They were Initial and Mid-Sky Sovereigns and their death didn't even stop the battle ever for the seconds.

Only the Peak Sky-Sovereigns matters.

I kept an eye on the above, especially their attacks, that might fall on the ground. The number of Sky Sovereigns might have been reduced, but the number of stray attacks has not and now they have become a lot less careful.

People are dying, and I don't want to be one of them.

If I had been at the place of Grimms; I would have ended the battle. We have the edge, and it is increasing; especially now that we have killed two of their strongest people.

They believe their higher numbers would be useful to them, and they are not completely wrong about it, but not right eight. They have a higher number of lowered-level Sky Sovereigns, where we have started dominating.

In the middle level, we are equal, but higher level. We have a clear edge against the Grimm.

Once that edge widened; the entire army of the Grimms would collapse. As it is a high-level powerhouse that matters the most; they would easily kill the lower-level ones and end the battle.

I pushed away the thoughts of why and just kept an eye, while I killed a Grimm after the Grimm.

It is getting harder to kill them quickly than before.

Now my strength isn't increasing, while those that have remained are strong and they are injuring me a lot, unlike before, I couldn't use the huge amount of healing energy to heal my injury.

This healing energy I have, in limited amounts thanks to strengthening essence, merged into it, and once that is gone.

I will become so weak that even the weakest person could kill me here. That will be disastrous.

I have to make it last long, as I don't know when the battle will end, and using it as little more than possible. Still, despite the healing, energy is doing its job.

The quantity isn't healing all my injuries, but they are healing enough that I could always harness all my strength and that is enough for me.

"Die! Why can't you die!" shouted the Frogman, which had been attacking me from a long distance for more than three and a half minutes, had finally lost it and came at me with its sword.

Its speed is incredibly fast, and it appeared in front of me in a second, before attacking with its huge blue saber, covered in the watery mist.

The mist looked beautiful, but it was extremely dangerous; then not many people would dare to go against it, and I didn't plan to do it either.

Its sword reached me when suddenly its eyes widened in shock and it stopped the attack and started to retreat, but its speed had become so slow that I was able to appear behind it and attack.

Puch!

My sword pierced through its heart, and a second later, it appeared in my core.

Yes, the distance matters, but one would need to be quite far to be out of the range of my strings. I had it in string, more than a minute ago and would kill it, but didn't and instead waited.

It paid off since the bastard had come to me and I killed it.

Now, I will be able to keep the aspect of the skill hidden from another battle.

After I finished with it, I moved to kill another enemy, when suddenly, I stopped and started to retreat with a string shield appearing in front of me.

BANNNNNG!

A second and a half later, the fiery attack struck the ground, creating a massive shockwave.

Puh!

I vomited the blood as the shockwave hit and blasted back, like a ragged doll. Faster, than ever, I had been since I had started here.

'Fuck!' I cursed as I saw my injuries and gritted my teeth and increased the flow of the healing energies to heal my injuries. Which had injured me so heavily that I could only harness a little over 75% of my power.

The injuries were bad, and I could already see the eyes on me and one of them had even moved at me.

The attack had been fast and powerful, like all the stray attacks. I am glad, that I used my clone to keep an eye on them and it saved my life.

The crucial second I had got helped me stop on time and activate the defensive measures. If I had kept moving, then even with a strong shield; I might not have been able to survive.

Hun!

I was moving back fast when suddenly, the Grimm attacked. It appeared behind me and swung its ax, without a single word.

I moved my shield toward the attack without hesitation.

CLANNNNG!

The mighty attack clashed against my shield; creating a powerful shockwave, lighting my shield like a sun, while I used that momentum to slow down.

It was not a hard momentum, but the one turned softer like a cushion thanks to my shield, while the White Bearman, watched incredulously.

Till now, nearly all the Grimms who attacked me have sent me back broken and bloodied. Even when there is a counter momentum; I would be heavily injured by their attack, but here there is barely any chance.

Though it would be noted that, I am already heavily injured.

"So, you can defend," said the Bearman, looking at the shield intently. "I can also kill, and you will know that within a minute," I threatened with a bloody grin.

The anger exploded in its eyes, but disappeared a moment later and it moved again.

A moment later, the attack clashed against my shield; it was as powerful as the last and made my shield shine.

That was just the beginning; more and more attacks came from all directions and of every type, but my shield had defended against it.

The shield is being controlled by my clone, while I am focused on my injuries.

The Shockwave of the Sky Sovereign attack had injured me heavily, but my injuries are rapidly healing with the healing energy. It won't be long till I heal enough to harness my full power.

Once that happens, I will be able to use the strings of a shield to better use and kill this bastard.

Hun!

I had just thought that when I saw this bastard suddenly retreating. It had only attacked for twenty-second exact, before leaving.

It seemed like, it didn't want to take the chance.

I watched leave, and four seconds later, it began to fight a different opponent, while I stayed on my spot, with my shield fading into view.

Every second my injuries healed, taking me closer and closer to harnessing my full power, and soon, I could harness 99% of my power.

'Another minute and I will be completely healed,' I thought and looked around, no hurry to go after any Grimms. Follow current s on novelenglish.net . Firᴇ.nᴇt

Hun!

Seconds passed I was focusing on my injuries when suddenly my eyes became clear, and I looked up. Another Grimms died, not the Salamanderman, but the other one, which is just as powerful.

This time, the battle didn't stop, but the change it brought was bigger than the death of the Grimm's two leaders.

With it dying, the whole balance of battle had skewed in our favor, and natives knew it because instantly, the change appeared in them.

The change had appeared in the Grimms too and it was even bigger than the humans.

"Retreat!"

Second and a half after the death of Peak Sky Sovereign Grimms death; the leader sounded retreat, shocking most Grimms on the ground.

Only a few could understand the reason behind it, but they followed the order.
