Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman’s Sinner Wife chapter 2044

However, Madeline was looking at him even more apologetically. “Yes, Yorick and Lana did a lot of things that went

against human nature, morals, and even the law. I hated Lana. You can even say that I detested her. That’s why I

thought she got what she deserved. I also thought that Yorick should be executed for his crime, but I neglected the

fact that they are your family.”

When Madeline said this, Fabian slowly understood why Madeline wanted to apologize. “ I’m sorry. I only thought

about my family and my feelings this whole time, but I didn’t think about your feelings. ”

Upon hearing this, Fabian frowned. It seemed that moisture appeared in his eyes without his realization.

“ I kept saying that I’m your best friend, but I am not qualified at all. As a friend, I should’ve been more like Evan. I

should’ve stood in your shoes and considered your feelings.

“I suddenly realize why you feel so much hatred for me and Jeremy. We don’t deserve a friend like you at all.”

Madeline smiled as she blamed herself.

“When Lana was killed by Ryan and Jeremy was being framed, you believed Jeremy unconditionally, and you even

helped me find out who the real killer was. But I forgot to comfort you. At the end of the day, she’s your biological

sister after all.”

When Madeline said this, she started feeling heavy. “Fabian, I’m sorry, I…”

“Enough.”

Fabian interrupted her. His eyes were already red. “Stop talking.”

He stopped Madeline from continuing, and his tears nearly escaped his eyes.

Madeline got up and handed him a piece of tissue.

“I know you don’t want to see me, but that’s what I want to say to you, and also thank you. You should stay  here

and recompose  yourself.  I’ll leave now.”

Madeline placed the tissue on the table in front of Fabian  and then started walking  toward  the stairs.

“Eveline.”

When Madeline heard the affection in Fabian’s voice that she had not heard in a long time, she was caught off

guard and very surprised.

She abruptly retracted her foot that had already stepped on the staircase.

Madeline could not believe what she had just heard. She then heard Fabian’s clear voice from behind her again

when she turned around.

“Eveline.”

When she heard it again, she was finally sure that she had not misheard him.

She turned around and saw Fabian standing not far away from her.

He stared at Madeline with red eyes, but there was no more repulsion or displeasure in his eyes as before.

Madeline smiled at him and walked toward him.

“ If you don’t mind, you can treat me as your older sister in the future. I’ll try my best to become a passable sister.”

Fabian smiled. He lifted his eyes slightly to force his tears back,  then he gave Madeline  a smile  of relief.

“Eveline, I think you misunderstand  something. ”

“Hmm?” Madeline looked at Fabian in confusion. “ What is it?”

“I respect you not because you’re older than me. Instead, it’s just how I show my affection.”

Fabian paused and finally gave her such an explanation.

‘This is just how he shows his affection?’

Madeline was surprised, but she felt that this was understandable.

However, this whole time, she had thought that Fabian saw her as his older sister, the kind between siblings.

When he saw Madeline looking as if she had a flash of understanding and her surprised expression, Fabian

continued explaining.

“Eveline, I never wanted to see you as my sister. The first time I met you, I was fond of you, but it’s not the

romantic kind because I knew you came because of Jeremy.”

Madeline looked at Fabian impressively. “You’re so smart, Young Master Johnson, I had really underestimated you.”

“You did. Eveline, I’m guessing that there’s one thing you still don’t know, isn’t right?”

“What is it?”
