Is everything okay with our taxes?” Clarissa scolded him, “The tax bureau handles taxes, not the police." Even though the police were only interested in Mr. Dunn, his actions reflected on her, and if he had a gun, she would likely know about it. If she went to the station with him, it would be hard to avoid trouble.
Clarissa suspected Liberty was behind this.
As soon as she heard the police were at the company, she feared they had discovered her gun and reported it.
Her suspicion made her nervous.
She knew she was guilty of something illegal and that there would be consequences.
