Chapter 112
Lexie glanced at Jocelyn and thought that her idea was not a bad one.
Then, she calmly asked, “When are you planning to go, and do you roughly know where it is? What do
you plan to do if you run into a locked safe? Have you considered these problems?”
Jocelyn was a bit stunned since he just had that thought but have not thought it through yet.
She felt that she had lived in the White Mansion for long enough that as long as she used an excuse to
go back and grab something, the servants would not notice. She intended to sneak into Michael’s study
when he was not home to grab the envelope.
However, after listening to Lexie, she suddenly realized that there was a good chance that Michael had
placed the envelope in a safe.
Lexie saw her expression and knew that she had not thought the plan through and only had an idea of it.
She said calmly, “I knew you were hopeless. We’ve got no choice but to go with the last resort. I can help
you open the safe but before we go, we must properly plan!”

Jocelyn grabbed Lexie’s hand. “Thank you for helping me instead of stopping me.” “I know how important
your mother’s things are to you,” Lexie replied calmly. Jocelyn looked at her and was so touched to have
a best friend that understood her so well.
Nothing would be gained if they did not venture out. Rather than being helplessly threatened by Michael,
it was better to take the first step.
After work, Jocelyn and Lexie got something to eat before driving to the White Mansion.
In fear of being discovered by Michael, they drove Lexie’s car. Jocelyn parked the car in the parking
space opposite the White Mansion and watched as Michael and Yennis left.
After a while, Lily left too.
The two of them got out of the car.
Lexie was rather curious. “How did you know that they’re all going out tonight?”
Jocelyn rolled her eyes at her. “How would I not know if I’ve lived here for so long? Every Friday at six
o’clock, there’s hardly anyone in the mansion! They would go attend some banquet for their social
networking!”
At this point, Jocelyn was smirking. “Not only that but when they’re all out, they don’t allow any servants
at the house either because they’re afraid that the servants will be up to no
good!”
Lexie raised her eyebrows but did not say anything. Jocelyn was glad that she did not throw away the
White Mansion’s key.
The two of them entered and quickly went upstairs.
Jocelyn sprinted towards the study. Lexie went straight to the safe as soon as she entered
while Jocelyn went to rummage through the bookshelves. She had already looked through half of the
bookshelf, but Lexie was standing still. Jocelyn could not help but feel a bit worried. “Lexie, can you
unlock it?” Lexie had her head lowered as her fingers kept moving. She calmly said without even lifting
her head to look at Jocelyn. “I can. Judging by the size of the keypad of the safe and the range of errors
that are allowed in this design, it greatly reduces the possible combinations of passwords. Then, using
the program I made on my laptop, I can reduce the possible combinations from millions to thousands
while using a blocking program to stop the sirens from sounding. I can crack the password quite quickly,

trusted her ability in this aspect. Jocelyn quickened her search too and rummaged through the whole
bookshelf. She went through every single book but did not find any sign of the envelope. She had even
forced open the drawer beside Michael’s desk but there was still nothing. Jocelyn was a bit disappointed
after searching for so long. At that moment, Lexie suddenly shouted from the other end, “I got it!” There
was a trace of joy in the voice when listened closely. Jocelyn quickly walked over and opened Michael’s
safe with a look of surprise. Inside the safe, other than some contracts and important documents, there
were also a few stacks of cash. On the highest shelf, there was an envelope addressed to her. Jocelyn
immediately took the envelope and sighed a breath of relief. “We finally found it!” Lexie sighed in relief
too since their efforts were not wasted!
Lexie stood up, packed, and prepared to leave. Jocelyn said, “Lexie, wait!” She shoved the envelope into
her pocket and quickly took Michael’s documents and contracts to take pictures of them with her phone.
Lexie stood quietly beside her and did not interfere. After all, Michael did everything he could to threaten
Jocelyn so she should have something of his in her hands. Otherwise, she would be threatened by him
endlessly. Jocelyn heard the clear sound of the door opening downstairs just as she opened a new
document.
She froze entirely.
