Comelia looked at him, listening to his deep voice. It felt like she was back to a year ago when she was sexually
harassed at work. He told her the same thing then.

was just now?”

Marcus caught her as she leaned into him, holding her tight, “I’m sorry!”
Comelia wnggled in his arms, “Stop saying sorry!”
“Hey, what are you two up to? Surely you haven’t been hugging all afternoon?” Zack, just waking up and still a bit
groggy, was heading to the kitchen to get some water. As he passed Cornelia’s room, he saw them hugging
through the slightly ajar door, and he felt a pang of, jealousy, “You could at least shut the door if you’re gonna
cuddle, why’d you let me see?”
Cornelia lifted her head from Marcus‘ chest, “You’re awake? Your head still hurts? Are you hungry? What do you
want for dinner?”
Noticing the redness around Comelia’s eyes, Zack immediately became worried, “Did you cry? Did Marcus bully
you?”
Cornelia replied, “I’ve told you so many times, he’s been really good to me, and wouldn’t bully me, why don’t you
believe me?”
Zack didn’t answer.
It wasn’t that he didn’t believe. He did. But seeing them together always gave him a complicated feeling. Like a
father watching his son–in–law, growing more and more dissatisfied.
Just then, Marcus‘ private phone suddenly rang. He pulled out his phone and saw it was Granny Luisa calling, then
smiled at Cornelia, “It’s Granny, she’s probably rushing us to come home.”

Today was Zack’s birthday, and Cornelia would never let Zack eat dinner alone, or else he would complain about it
for the rest of his life. However, when Marcus answered the phone, his expression immediately changed. He
paused, then said to Cornelia, “Your grandmother, suddenly falls ill, she’s in the hospital, we need to go now.”

The Hartley family’s old mansion welcomed two long–lost guests. The guests were Roman and his mother, Sabrina.
Granny Luisa had always been very kind, especially to friends she hadn’t seen in a long time. When she heard that
they were coming. Granny Luisa had food and drinks prepared, and she personally went to the gate to welcome
them.
