Chapter 441 Omni Element Magician
Jonathan did not know what the Crystal Ball was made of, nor did he concern himself with it. After receiving it, he
felt the object carefully, then cleared his mind.
Soon after, he began to sense something miraculous. It felt as if he and the Crystal Ball shared a close connection.
Like a microscope, it enabled him to see microorganisms in the air that he could not have seen with his naked eye.
Jonathan experienced many bizarre occurrences in his mind.
Then, he felt his surroundings change.
Though he was aware of magnetic fields and molecules in the main world, he only knew they existed, but he never
experienced their existence.
At that moment, however, Jonathan saw a kaleidoscopic array swimming before him.
They were the elements of light, earth, fire, water, and wood. Each had a distinctive path. Also, Jonathan sensed
the dark elements.
While that was going on, he was unaware of what was happening in the world outside.
Yeverie, too, saw the flashes of color in the Crystal Ball.
Skylar, Moose, and Ducson, on the other hand, widened their eyes with shock and disbelief.
Moose began trembling violently. “How is this possible?” Those four words were all he was capable of uttering.
Skylar and Ducson were shaking, too. They were at a loss for words.
Suddenly, Jonathan retracted his hand and wrenched himself out of the Crystal Ball. Opening his eyes, he gazed up
at Moose and the others. Confused, he glanced at Yeverie, who seemed unable to provide an explanation.
“What are you saying, Mr. Moose?” he asked. “What isn't possible? Is there something wrong with my test?”
Skylar looked extremely confused. Gaping at Jonathan, he said, “If there isn't a mistake, the test of the Crystal Ball
has indicated that you are the first person in Moranta capable of mastering all five elements, as well as the dark
elements. This is unprecedented.”
“Indeed,” Ducson added. “Even the mighty Theos could only master the five elements and not the magic of the
dark elements. Besides, she has been the only one to have done so throughout Moranta's existence.”
Jonathan's heart began pounding. He could not believe how special and powerful he was.
However, the realization brought him no joy, because he was powerless in Moranta. Furthermore, even Theos only
mastered the five elements; and he knew more than her. What if Theos becomes displeased with my existence?
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWhat then?
In a short span of time, Jonathan considered many questions.
Moose watched him. He was beginning to digest the revelation of Jonathan's abilities. Jonathan was also watching
Moose carefully, ready to escape the moment the latter displayed an inclination to kill him.
To his relief, however, Moose did not show any intention to want to harm him. Instead, he gave a sad chuckle.
“There seems to be no end of surprises from you, Mr. Lawson. I'm sure Theos will think most highly of you. She has
always been of the opinion that the five elements and the dark elements belong on opposite factions, and one
could never have both coexisting in one's cerebral domain. The fact that you managed to do so boggles my mind.”
Jonathan gazed at Moose and returned the wry smile. “Theos wouldn't kill me, would she?”
Moose gave a start. “Why would she kill you?” he asked, puzzled.
Jonathan considered the matter. He knew that Moose was a wily old fox. In contrast, the Golden Knights and Skylar
were more sincere and innocent.
Though Moose appeared as the most friendly and benevolent one among them, Jonathan knew very well that
Moose was the one he should be wary against.
Moose put on an expression of profound realization. “You think too much, Mr. Lawson. Even if you master the magic
of the five elements and the dark elements, you do not possess the foundations. Theos, on the other hand, has
existed since the beginning of time. You are absolutely not a match for her. You are thinking too much to even
consider the possibility of her killing you. The path of arcane mastery, from the beginner Magician to the
Archmage, is no small feat. Even to cultivate any branch of magic would be truly difficult—it would be unfathomable
to cultivate all five branches.”
Jonathan froze. Then, he understood some of it. The cultivation of magic may be similar to Destino Art in their
progression for every level gained was an uphill battle. For one to master all five elements is unfathomably difficult.
At least, I am not a threat to Theos for the moment.
That, too, was not guaranteed. Theos may simply decide to eliminate him before he became difficult to kill.
Jonathan realized he had made a mistake. He should not have demonstrated his grasp on magic to Moose.
I shouldn't have shown them how much I know.
Now that he had revealed his talent, it was proving to be a big problem.
At this point, I have to take things one step at a time. If he was going to plot an escape, Moose and the others would
hunt him down.
Not to mention that it would draw the matter to Theos' attention.
Given that he had come from the main world and that he was attributed to all the elements of magic, those two
were good reasons to force Theos' hand.
Perhaps I can swear to Theos that I'll never cultivate magic and that I will return to the main world as soon as
possible. That way, she may be only too happy to send me on my way.
That was the best he could do.
This is one more gamble I have to take.
Thus, Jonathan made up his mind.
After that, he refrained from discussing the matter of the elements any further. Moose, too, ordered Ducson and
Skylar not to disclose the matter to the outside world. The fewer people know about these things, the better.
Aware of the seriousness of the matter, Skylar and Ducson agreed.
Jonathan and Yeverie, especially, were not that foolish to tell others about that.
When they emerged from the tent, Moose said, “Don't worry, Mr. Lawson. You will become Theos' new favorite. If
you please her, she might even take you as her apprentice. It's a wonderful honor. Don't feel burdened!”
Jonathan hurriedly made a gesture of gratitude. “Thank you for taking the trouble, Mr. Moose.” However, he
muttered inwardly... As if I'll trust you.
Then, the group put the tent away into the storage ring. Lightly packed, they continued on their way.
Storage rings were common in Moranta. It allowed people could bring many things with them, which was very
convenient.
Moose and his companions were dressed in thick and warm garments, especially Moose. He was a frail Magician
who feared the cold.
Skylar and the others, too, were dressed in many layers.
Jonathan and Yeverie, on the other hand, were dressed thinly, but they appeared at ease in the wintry place.
Along their journey, Moose could not contain his curiosity. “Don't you feel cold, Mr. Lawson?” he asked Jonathan.
Jonathan gave a light smile. “When I'm sufficiently rested, my body is able to regulate itself according to the
seasons, may it be hot or cold.”
Since he had already revealed too much to Moose, he did not wish to keep anything else hidden.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSkylar was puzzled upon hearing that. “What a miraculous feat your body is capable of, Mr. Lawson.” After a pause,
he continued, “Being a fighter, I have a strong constitution and am adept at withstanding the cold, but that's the
extent of it. I can't regulate myself according to the seasons. How do you manage that?”
Jonathan glanced at Skylar. He knew that the latter's tender age was rather misleading—he and his ilk were all
formidable fighters. In actual fact, their cultivation techniques differed from the modern way. They supplemented
their regime with divine energy, which was a form of spirit borne from cultivation. Though it augmented their
powers, their bodies were not as refined as his.
His inner strength had refined every cell in his body.
More specifically, Jonathan's body was akin to a stew that had been simmering for a hundred years.
In comparison, Skylar's was like a pot of artificially flavored soup.
Though both could attain similar flavor profiles, there was a massive difference upon a closer taste.
“As practitioners, we must first cultivate our inner selves,” Jonathan explained. “We begin from every muscle and
every cell, and we strive upward. That is how we manage greater feats of control over our bodies.”
Skylar appeared deep in thought.
Ducson, too, fell into rumination.
After saying that, Jonathan no longer paid the pair any mind and he took Yeverie's hand. She was content with
walking alongside him in silence.
“It would not be easy to find the traitor in this place where it's nothing but snow as far as the eye can see,”
Jonathan remarked suddenly to Moose. “I'm curious, Mr. Moose. What did he do to warrant such a massive effort to
hunt him down?”
“This matter remains a secret within Supreme Sect which we've not announced to the outside world. Seeing as you
are not an outsider, Mr. Lawson, I see no harm in telling you,” explained Moose.
Jonathan smiled faintly. “We don't have to talk about it if it's not appropriate to discuss it.”
Moose smiled. “It's all right.” After a pause, he sighed. “This traitor is a great shame of our sect.”
Jonathan and Yeverie listened intently. Jonathan was burning with curiosity to find out if the traitor was Torrence.
After lamenting, Moose continued, “He was the pride of our sect. We only had four Holy Golden Knights, who were
sworn to defend Theos. The traitor is none other than the head of the Holy Golden Knights–Sir Torrence!”
Jonathan's heart skipped a beat. It was just as he feared. Torrence is indeed the traitor Moose is persecuting.
Yeverie knew about Torrence as well, so her heart skipped a beat.
However, their expressions remained unfazed.
