Chapter 277
Thaddeus‘ heart pounded furiously, his gaze on Evadne softer than it had ever been before.
Yet her sharp words, laced with coldness, pierced through his heart like an icy blade. His gaze became
blurry as he stared into her eyes filled with deep affection. “Master!”
Camille’s face was a mask of confusion upon seeing Evadne. She had a million questions swirling in
her mind, yet she found herself unable to voice any of them. “Thaddeus, why are you here?” Evadne
asked with a detached tone.
Seeing the lack of any affection in her demeanor, as if their shared past and near–death experience
meant nothing, Thaddeus‘ heart sank. Nevertheless, he replied sincerely, “I came to see you.”
“Cut the crap. Do you even believe your own words?” A mocking smile formed on Evadne’s lips,
completely disregarding Thaddeus.
Thaddeus was speechless.
“That’s enough. You’ve seen her, now leave.” Camille, clearly annoyed, ordered him away.
She was disgusted by this man, who had been entangled with a gold–digging woman before. Now that
the gold–digger was out of the picture, he was attempting to make a comeback. His presence alone felt
like a stain on their place.
“I’m not leaving.” Thaddeus‘ eyes were determined.
“Do you want me to beat you out with a baseball bat?” Camille was usually an ice queen in public, but
when it came to defending her loved ones, her fiery temper flared up.
W
“Eve.”
Evadne’s heart clenched as she locked eyes with him.
Ignoring Camille, Thaddeus only had eyes for Evadne, “I have something to say to you.”

Was he calling her?
During their three years of marriage, he had always called her by her full name, sometimes even
skipping the name entirely and going straight to the point. Gordon was stunned, but he was happy for
Thaddeus!
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtFinally, his boss had a change of heart!
“Hey, watch your mouth. You’re divorced now and my master clearly doesn’t want to interact with you.
You should call her Ms. Evadne.”
“Say what you need to say.”
Evadne coldly gave the order and turned to leave.
Thaddeus felt as if he had been blessed by the heavens. Despite trying to keep his emotions in check,
he couldn’t hide his delight; He followed her without a second thought.
Gordon was grinning from ear to ear. He enjoyed watching Thaddeus making an effort to win his wife
back.
Seeing that she couldn’t stop him, Camille could only vent her frustration on Gordon, shooting him a
death glare. “Wait outside. No one related to Thaddeus is allowed in!”
Thaddeus quickly caught up with Evadne.
But Evadne never once turned to look at him. He was no longer the center of her world.
But, it was okay.
Her decision to let him stay today indicated that his efforts had been acknowledged. However slightly,
he would seize any opportunity, no matter how small!
He had let her go during their three years of marriage.
Now, he was going to win her back!
As they approached the door to the studio, Evadne suddenly halted but didn’t turn around.
“Eve.”
“Who gave you the right to call me that?”
Evadne slowly turned to look at the flustered man behind her. Her gaze was icy cold, not a hint of
friendliness in sight. “You may not find it weird, but I find it disgusting.”
“I just don’t want us to be so distant.” Thaddeus‘ heart skipped a beat. He didn’t understand why she
was upset.
He wasn’t good at comforting people. The man who was decisive and eloquent in business and
international conferences was, at this moment, at a loss for words in front of the woman he loved.
“Please, Mr. Thaddeus, don’t call me that. It makes me feel like I’m on par with some cheap women,
and it’s an insult to my dignity.” Evadne’s gaze was sharp and icy cold.
Thaddeus‘ lips tightened, and a piercing pain shot through his throat.
He realized that the hurt he had caused her hadn’t faded. In fact, it was as deep–seated as when they
had just divorced.
She wasn’t considering forgiving him. Instead, she clung onto any traces of their past and magnified
them.
“Evadne, when I call you that, it has nothing to do with anyone else.” Thaddeus tried to explain, his
mouth dry.
“That’s enough.”
Evadne opened the door, cutting him off coldly. “Don’t overthink it. I only brought you here because I
know you. If I didn’t let you do what you came here for today, you wouldn’t leave. I just didn’t want to
cause trouble for Camille.”
Thaddeus looked at Evadne’s lonely figure, his expression turning gloomy.
She had brought him into her studio for one reason: Myra’s birthday was coming up. As she was busy
during the day, she only had time to work on the dress in the evening. She had to make every second
count.
Evadne picked up a jade hairpin from the table and skillfully tied her silky hair into a bun.
Thaddeus‘ gaze softened as he watched her. His fingertips twitched slightly.
Her hair was thick, and silky, inviting him to touch.
He remembered the nights they had spent together during their honeymoon. Evadne wasn’t a quiet
sleeper, and her hair often spilled onto his side of the bed. Fearing that he would tug on her hair, he
had carefully combed them away.
A wave of sorrow washed over him, his eyes reddening silently.
Back then, Evadne had been by his side, within his reach. Now, he didn’t even have the right to touch
her.
“Hey.”
Evadne picked up a safety pin with her lips and bent over the dress, sewing on some decorations.
“How have you been feeling lately?”
“I’m good.” Thaddeus‘ voice was low and hoarse.
“Mm.”
Her fingers moved tirelessly, her long lashes fluttering as she glanced at the man standing still in his
tracks. “Aren’t you going to say something to me? Go on.” Thaddeus fell silent for a moment.
“Ah, cat got your tongue? You better not be fooling me, I hope you actually have something to say.”
The man felt a tightening in his chest, sensing that if he didn’t speak up, he might be shown the door.
Hastily, he began, “Actually, I came to find Ms. Camille, to ask about someone.”
“Who?”
“Haron.”
Evadne’s poker face remained, yet her fingertips trembled slightly, “Haron? The internationally
renowned fashion designer? What do you want with her?”
“I want to ask her to come out of retirement and design a dress for me.” Thaddeus stated earnestly.
“She’s busy, forget about it.” Evadne cast her gaze downward, a cold huff echoing in her mind..
Evadne thought, “This filthy man, previously wanting to engage Alea for jewelry design, now wanted
Haron to design his clothes. He sure has a vivid imagination, does he think the world revolves around
him? Does he think he’s the sun?”
Thaddeus frowned slightly; “How are you so sure? Do you know her?”
“Why do you want her to design a dress?” Evadne smartly retorted, avoiding a direct answer.
“I have an elder acquaintance whose birthday is coming up: I want to get her to design a dress as a gift
for them.” Thaddeus explained with a hint of evasion.
He didn’t want to reveal his plans of getting a dress designed for Myra, hoping to surprise her later.
But while the speaker’s thoughts might be as lovely as a flower, the listener didn’t share the sentiment.
Evadne let out a teasing chuckle, “Oh, yes, I nearly forgot. This weekend happens to be the birthday of
the elegant Mrs. Frederic. You intend to make use of this opportunity to impress Mr. Frederic and

“Evadne.” Thaddeus’s brows knitted together, his eyes brimming with displeasure.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t tolerate her provocative taunts, but rather, he disliked the feeling of being
misunderstood!
“When you contact Haron, make sure you don’t mention that it’s for Elspeth’s birthday gift. I fear she
might chew you out.”
Evadne, holding back her annoyance, turned her back to him, no longer wanting to see him, “Are you
done? Get out of here! I’m busy, and you’re distracting me. Ah!”
Suddenly distracted, she pricked her finger with the needle, eliciting a small gasp.
“What’s wrong? Did you hurt yourself?”
Thaddeus quickly strode over to her, concern filling his eyes as he grasped her delicate hand.
Indeed, a small droplet of crimson blood had formed on her finger.
Thaddeus’s brows knitted together in concern, as if the pain from the prick was his own, “Does it hurt?”
“Let go.” Evadne’s slender hand tried to wriggle free from his grasp, but to no avail.
As the bead of blood spread, it bloomed like a richly colored rose before him, stirring warmth in his
eyes.
The next moment, as if mustering a sudden courage, Thaddeus took Evadne’s finger into his mouth.
“You.” Evadne’s pupils dilated in surprise, her heart pounding in her chest.
A sensation, warm and tender, gently enveloped her finger, gently sucking the wound.
Eyadne felt a tingling sensation, almost like an electric current, starting from her fingertip and spreading
throughout her body.
Her breathing became erratic, her cheeks flushed, her finger trembling uncontrollably in the man’s
warm mouth.
Feeling her trembling, Thaddeus narrowed his eyes, his lips brushing over her knuckles, going deeper,
then shallower, then deeper again.
Their eyes met, and Evadne felt her legs weaken, her head spinning.
His affectionate gaze at this moment was reminiscent of their passionate night under the moonlight,
just as captivating.
Although they hadn’t done anything, it felt like they had done everything.
Thaddeus’s breathing became rushed, the heat in the air silently rising.
“Enough!”
Evadne, suddenly panicked, withdrew her hand as if waking from a dream.
Just as she took a step back, Thaddeus reached out his long arm, hooking her waist and pulling her
into his embrace!
“Thaddeus! What are you trying to do?” Fear flashed in Evadne’s beautiful eyes.
Thaddeus’s heart pounded uncontrollably, his eyes sparkling like the stars as he looked into hers. Their
bodies pressed together, their heartbeats and body heat merged.
“Evadne, I want to kiss you.” He confessed, his eyes full of desire yet sincere.
Evadne’s heart skipped a beat and she gritted her teeth, “Stop.”
She didn’t finish her words.
His sudden kiss silenced her protests, consuming her words, prying her lips apart.
And then it deepened, further and further.
