Chapter 133
After throwing up, Evadne sobered up a bit as she got back to the KTV. But her good mood from
hanging out with her little sister instantly went down the drain.
How on earth did she bump into that jerk again?
She decided she’d hit up a church to pray when she had some time, hoping to avoid trouble for the
night.
Just then, a small hand gently grabbed her arm.
As Evadne looked down and met Nydia’s eyes, she forced a smile and said, “I’m good.”
“Evadne, was that dude your ex-husband?” Nydia asked, wrapping her arm around Evadne’s waist with
concern.
“Yep.” Evadne responded faintly, sounding somewhat drained.
“Wow, he’s so hot!” Nydia’s clear eyes sparkled as she honestly declared, “I thought my brothers were
already handsome enough, but I didn’t expect your ex-husband to be even more attractive! Is he really
a CEO? He’s totally Hollywood star material!”
Evadne touched her forehead helplessly. “Stop talking nonsense.”
“No wonder you said your ex-husband is even more handsome than movie stars. I didn’t believe it then,
but now it seems true!” Nydia said excitedly.
“Who cares if he’s handsome? He’s still a jerk. And stop calling him handsome.”
It was too late at night. To avoid disturbing her cla**mates, Nydia had to stay at Evadne’s villa for the
night and return the next morning.
She noticed that Evadne, who usually held her liquor pretty well, was drunk tonight. She was constantly
rubbing her brow, leaning against the car window and breathing gently.
“Evadne, let me rub it for you.” Nydia gently ma**aged her temples.
Evadne leaned quietly against Nydia, breathing in her faint scent. The beads of sweat on her forehead
shone, as if even her intoxication carried a faint fragrance.
Nydia swallowed hard, deeply attracted by Evadne’s beauty.
Honestly, who could still look this beautiful when drunk? It was simply irresistible.
When they reached the entrance of the villa, Evadne had the driver stop the car. Whenever she was
drunk, she liked to take a walk, so she wouldn’t feel uncomfortable when sleeping.

The night breeze was cool, the moon was bright, and the stars were sca ttered. The scenery somewhat
eased Evadne’s troubled mood.
Suddenly, she frowned and stopped walking, gripping Nydia’s hand tightly.
“Evadne? What’s wrong?”
“Someone is following us.” Evadne lowered her voice, becoming alert.
Nydia got a fright and nervously looked around. Her hand was sweaty from the tension.
“Don’t worry, I’m here. If anyone dares to hurt us, I’ll make them regret it.” Evadne comforted Nydia, a
faint smile tugging at her lips.
She had just had a fight with Thaddeus, and was still mad. Now someone was looking for trouble!
“Stop hiding! If you dare, come out!” Evadne shouted sharply.
Then, a chilling sound came from the bushes.
Her expression turned serious and she quickly pulled Nydia behind her for protection.
Heavy footsteps approached, and a tall, muscular man in black sportswear and a black mask walked
towards them.
Looking at his physique, Nydia was already gasping for breath!
Evadne, on the other hand, remained calm. She knew the man was well-trained, but she was confident
that she could handle most people in a fight.
After all, there weren’t many who could compare to Elvis and Thaddeus.
“Which one of you is Evadne?” the man in black asked coldly.
He spoke with a bit of an accent. He wasn’t like a local.
“I am. Aren’t you going to show some respect?” Evadne raised an eyebrow proudly without a single
trance of fear.
Suddenly, a sharp dagger appeared in the man’s hand and he lunged at Evadne!
“Ah! Watch out!” Nydia felt a chill and screamed, but was violently pushed away by Evadne.
“Nydia! Run!”
But how could she just leave her sister and run away?
A fierce fight broke out, causing a strong gust of wind.
In no time at all, Evadne and the man in black had exchanged more than a dozen moves.
Nydia was dumbstruck. This was even more thrilling than watching an action movie!
“Go, Evadne!” she couldn’t help but cheer.
Evadne narrowly avoided the man’s vicious attack and was speechless. Was this really the right time
for cheering?
“Nydia, call the police!”
“Okay!” Nydia came back to her senses, fumbling to get her phone out.
The man in black didn’t expect this seemingly weak woman to put up such a fight.
Seeing that he couldn’t subdue her for the moment, the man shifted his target and attacked Nydia!
Nydia’s phone fell to the ground and she froze, eyes clenched shut.

Chapter 133
A mu ffled moan came and Nydia opened her eyes in terror. Evadne was standing in front of her,
blocking the knife!
Evadne’s coat was slashed open and blood dripped down in a steady stream.
“Evadne!” Nydia shouted, tears welling up.
Evadne was panting heavily, clutching her bleeding arm. The pain was unbearable, and she was
sweating profusely.
This man wasn’t just here to cause trouble, and he was out to kill her!
Just as the man in black attacked Evadne again, he suddenly lurched backwards. Someone had
grabbed his collar.
Evadne seized the opportunity and, with fiery eyes, delivered a swift roundhouse kick, sending his
weapon flying.
“Ugh!” Then, the man in black cried out in pain.
Evadne watched as both of the man’s arms were snapped off!
“Is that you?”
She looked surprised, forgetting about the pain. She stared blankly at the handsome man standing on
the man in black, his foot crushing him.
“Fancy meeting you here,” Avery said with a warm smile as refreshing as a spring breeze.
With a hard grind of his high-end handmade leather shoe, the man in black was in so much pain he
was pounding the ground.
“Evadne!” Jason was shouting her name as he ran towards them.
“Jason! Quick, Evadne’s hurt!” Seeing Jason, Nydia was so excited she was on the verge of tears

“Evadne! How could this happen?”
Seeing the pool of blood on the ground, Jason felt like his heart was being ripped out. His tears were
welling up, “Who hurt you?”
“How come you’re here? Is your mom’s illness is all fine and dandy? How can you come to see me?”
Evadne wheezed a little, her tone laced with a hint of reproach.
“Should we be discussing my issues now? You need to get to the hospital, pronto!”
Jason felt the narrow knife wound as if it was ripping into himself, his heart aching like hell. He bent
down, trying to lift Evadne up.
However, Evadne took a half step back, stubbornly shaking her head, “It’s just a scratch, no need to
freak out. Nydia is scared out of her wits. Just take care of her, I’m all good.” “Evadne.” Jason’s gaze
went blank for a moment, his fingers clenching powerlessly.
Evadne was always a woman of principles, and she was as tough and firm as any man. Even in this
state, not a single tear fell from her eyes.
“Evadne, let Jason take care of you. I’m okay.”
Guilt-ridden, Nydia couldn’t stop the tears streaming down her face. “It’s all my fault. I’m such an idiot! If
I hadn’t held you back, you wouldn’t have been hurt by this scu mbag.”
“Silly girl, what are you talking about.” Evadne lifted her hand to pinch Nydia’s wet little face, sighing,
“It’s my fault for getting you involved. I should be the one apologizing.”
Meanwhile, two bodyguards had the man in black all tied up and shoved into a car.
“Are you alright?” The secretary’s face was as white as a sheet. Avery had moved so quickly and he
couldn’t keep up!
“I’m fine.” Avery dusted off his clothes elegantly, casually raising his cold eyes to look at Evadne.
Evadne took a deep breath. She walked straight up to him and said gently, “Sir, I appreciate your help.
But this man is important to me. Can you hand him over to me?”
The man smirked slightly, “Sure, but I have a condition.”
“What’s it?”
As she spoke, Evadne suddenly felt herself lifted off the ground, abruptly cradled in Avery’s arms, so
fast even Jason didn’t have time to react!
She let out a small scream, and as she lifted her head, she met Avery’s soft gaze.
“Let’s deal with your wounds at the hospital first. After that, you can do whatever you want.”
