Chad agreed with Elliot's idea, but judging from the look on his face, Chad could not help but feel like Elliot would mess it up. Elliot
looked as though he was about to go and beat Avery or Billy up and whichever he ended up doing would still enrage Avery.
"Mr. Foster, eat something." Chad scooped a spoonful of food and placed it on his plate. "Why didn't you call Ben along?"
Elliot knew that Chad did not have a high tolerance for alcohol, and his head was already beginning to spin after drinking merely
one glass.
"He is with Lilith."
"Oh... How are things moving along between them?" Chad asked. "The last t| talked to him, he was still saying how he
had been rendered completely helpless!"
"Lilith has given up her job in Bridgedale and has cback to Aryadelle to further her career, so | don't think their relationship
would change."

"I guess! Lilith has always been quite clear with what she wants. I'm happy for Ben." Chad noticed the dark look on Elliot's face and
his smile immediately faded. "Mr.
Foster, how are you planning to take Avery away?"
"lI have my ways." Elliot had a detailed plan in mind.
"Layla and Robert haven't started school yet, and if you take Avery away against her will..."
"Do | look that stupid to you?" Naturally, Elliot did not plan on kidnapping Avery, and he had never treated her recklessly, past or
present.
"It's not that, Mr. Foster... You just look like you've had a bit too much to drink..."
"I'm not drunk!" Elliot's eyes flared with rage. "Just go! | don’t want to drink anymore."
Chad gulped down the wine in his glass guiltily. "I'll drink with you for a while longer, Mr. Foster. Why isn't there anyone in your
house? Where are the kids?" Chad looked around him.
"They went out."
"Why didn't they bring you along?" Chad felt sorry that Elliot was left to drink alone at home. "Layla can't be that insensitive,
right?"
If Elliot had been slightly drunk earlier, he definitely sobered at Chad's words.
"They went to a water park. Why would they bringalong?"
"Oh," Chad muttered awkwardly. "So when are you going to act? Do you need my help?"
"The biggest help you can offer is to not try =e):TMU; talkout of it."
"Mr. Foster, | do want you to get back together with Avery. If | were Cupid, | would fire all my arrows and the both of you so that you
were bonded for life. No one else would be able to tear you apart."
Elliot said nothing about Chad's statement.

Elliot's urge to drink emerged again at Chad's words.
An hour later, Mrs. Cooper brought Layla and Robert hand caught the scent of alcohol in the air as soon as they stepped into
the living room.
Layla hurried toward the dining room and noticed her father drinking, while Chad leaned his head against the table, seemingly
asleep.
"Dad! What are you doing?" Layla walked toward Elliot and scowled while staring at his flushed cheeks. "Why are you drinking?
Elliot had not drunk much. Chad fell asleep three glasses into the bottle they opened, and Elliot had decided to simply finish the
bottle. He went out to make a call and took another call, so it took him stto finish the wine.
"I..." Elliot struggled to cup with an excuse. "Uncle Chad cover for dinner so | had a few drinks with him."
The frown on Layla's face eased. "| see! Did something good happen? Uncle Chad
passed out."
"Yeah. He is going on a holiday."
