Evander flashed her a sullen glare. “Who gave you permission to touch my stuff?”

To Olivine, that sounded as though he was defending Angeline.

Naturally, she didn’t like that one bit.

She smashed the picture frame against the floor, causing it to shatter on the spot.

“Why? You canceled our engagement because Angeline seduced you, but now you know she has already found her

child! Why won’t you just give up on her and move on?” Olivine shouted angrily with tears in her eyes.

Evander simply looked coldly at her. “How did you know about Angeline finding her child?”

“I…”

Olivine fell silent and looked away to avoid making eye contact.

How do I even answer that question? I can’t tell him I had someone keep a close eye on Angeline this whole time!

She was still racking her brain for an answer when Evander walked up to her and grabbed her by the wrist. The look

in his eyes was icy-cold as he gave it a hard squeeze.

“Ow!”

Olivine’s eyes were filled with fear as she stammered, “I-It’s not what you think, Evander! I—”

The next thing she knew, Evander had yanked her off the bed and was dragging her toward the door.

“Ow! Stop it! That hurts! Be gentle, will you?”

Olivine tried to put up a struggle, but Evander was simply far too strong for her. There was nothing she could do to

break free from his grip.

He shoved her to the floor with so much force that she felt as though her bones had been dislocated. She could

barely breathe as intense pain tore through her body.

Before she could even respond, Evander grabbed the clothes that she had removed and threw them onto her.

“If you dare do anything to Angeline ever again, the entire Sherrock family will suffer my wrath!” he warned before

slamming the door shut.

Just like that, he had literally thrown Olivine out of his room as though she were a piece of trash. Her face was pale

as she gripped her clothes in embarrassment.

This was the first time she had ever been humiliated so badly.

Despite being from the wealthy Sherrock family, Olivine meant nothing to Evander whatsoever.

Since she had been thrown out of the room, Olivine had no choice but to get dressed and head downstairs with her

head held low.

Suddenly, she heard the sound of someone giggling behind her.

Upon turning around, Olivine saw Floretta peeking at her behind a corner. She was laughing and clapping happily

after witnessing what had happened earlier.

“Haha! Serves you right! You should just give up, Ms. Sherrock! Daddy will never fall for a woman like you!”

Olivine was already in a bad mood, so hearing that from Floretta had her blood boiling with rage.

“You haven’t heard, have you? Your daddy and Angeline broke up long ago.” She walked up to Floretta and shot her

a vicious glare. “I heard your daddy grounded you when I came in earlier. Why do you think he stopped you from

contacting Angeline all of a sudden?”

“No, that’s impossible! You liar! You’re only saying this because you’re jealous of Angel!” Floretta retorted.

“Hmph! Why would I be jealous of her? I’m better than her in terms of family background and appearance!”

As much as Olivine hated to admit it, Floretta’s words did strike a nerve.

Why is Angeline receiving all of his love even though I’m clearly better than her?

Furious at the thought of that, she decided to take her anger out on Floretta.

“I just want you to know that Angeline isn’t as perfect as you make her out to be. Besides, she has already found

her biological child. She won’t want you anymore!”

Floretta shuddered when she heard that. It hurt her so much that she teared up almost instantly.

She still remembered Angeline telling her that she had a child about the same age as her.

Angeline had also said her child would probably be just as adorable if they were still around.

Does Angel really not want me anymore now that she has found her child?

Floretta shook her head profusely. “No! That’s impossible! Angel isn’t like that!”

Olivine’s lips curled into a wicked grin as she continued adding fuel to the fire. “Don’t be silly. Angeline only got close

to your daddy because she needed money to look for her child. Now that she has found her child, there’s no way

she’ll care about you!”

“Stop it, you evil woman!”

Floretta covered her ears while tears flowed down her cheeks.

She shoved Olivine aside and ran down the stairs as quickly as her legs could carry her.

Caught off guard, Olivine lost her balance and fell backward. Had she not grabbed the handrail in time, she

would’ve rolled down the stairs.

“What a rude and violent brat!” Olivine muttered under her breath as she glanced at the living room, only to realize

that Floretta was nowhere in sight.

Huh? Where did she go?

After running down the stairs in her state of panic, Olivine saw that the front door was half open. She scanned the

courtyard outside but saw no sign of Floretta anywhere.

Olivine bit her lip and began to regret her actions.

Oh, no… Did I hurt her so much that she decided to run away from home? It’s so late at night, and she doesn’t

know her way around the city! What if she gets kidnapped?

“It’s time for your bath, Ms. Floretta!”

Fear and panic filled her eyes when she heard Francesca’s voice coming from upstairs.

I’ll be done for if Evander finds out that Floretta is missing because of me! I can’t let him find out!

Olivine clenched her teeth and ran out of the Golding residence.

Meanwhile, Francesca continued searching all over the house for Floretta. It wasn’t until she went downstairs that

she saw the front door was open.

That shocked her so much that she nearly fainted on the spot.

After taking a moment to recompose herself, Francesca made her way upstairs and knocked on Evander’s

bedroom door.

“Please come quickly, Mr. Golding! Ms. Floretta has run off on her own again!” she called out to him in a trembling

voice.

At the hospital, things were extremely quiet.

It wouldn’t even be an overstatement to say that one could easily hear a needle dropping on the floor.

Angeline was sitting on the chair next to the bed with a bowl of oatmeal in her hand. She was staring at the boy,

who had covered himself with a blanket all the way up to his neck.
