“AHHHH….” Alpha Adam’s painful cry echoed in the torture room as his
manhood was being crushed under my foot while I took a darg of my cigarette
for the first tin many days. “Uhg… it tastes bland. Could it be because of
her…” I murmured, recalling her sweet kis*s from the evening at the dead end
of
the woods while putting it out on Alpha Adam’s chest.
“NOO…” He cried even more not from the burn but the pressure I put on his
manhood. “Please let me
go, Alpha Reuben. Why are you caging me?”
“Do I have to repeat my question?” I lazily looked at the old fool who had been
shedding fearful tears but never admitting, “You switched the babies so easily
and never got caught up to this point. Doesn’t it
seem too easy?” Reuben raised his eyebrows, pulling Adam slightly closer to his
face. “Such power seems so familiar to me,” he looked deeper into Adam’s
fearful eyes and asked, “Do you know Dark?”
“I don’t know any Dark! I beg you,” he cried, his face fiushed as blood.
“What did I say about lying, Alpha Adam?” I glanced at him lightly, picking up a
dagger from the side. table. “Try to lie toagain and I will cut your third leg
off without so much as a second thought,” I remarked, aiming the dagger right
between his spread legs.
Adam’s face turned white in horror as he quickly shrieked, “I… I AM NOT LYING! I
DON’T KNOW ANY DARK. I SWEAR ON MY DAUGHTER!!”
As he swore on Ella, I frowned and squatted down on the ground, “Then tell me
how the fu*ck you were able to switch the babies? As far as I know, my father’s
Gamma had a son on that day too. Yet you never cto our pack. That means
that you had to have used skind of spell or magic to successfully switch the
babies,” I pointed out and his guilty face madeknow that I was correct.
He lowered his head and admitted, “My best friend helpedwith it. He owed
Gamma’s.”
My ears perked up at Adam’s confession. It was clear that the unique power
holder was Dark but the real
question was… “Who is your friend?” I demanded.
Alpha Adam raised his gaze and stared atin silence for a long tbefore he
revealed, “Alpha Benjamin from Wade Moon Pack.”
“Alpha Benjamin?!” My eyes widened in shock at the unexpected name.

“Alpha! Please wake up.”
“Alpha!!”
Ken’s urgent and distressed voice pierced through my slumber, joltingawake
with each shake of my arm. Slowly, my senses returned and I becaware of
the cool embrace of my bedroom fioor beneath me. The wine bottle, now an
unwelcnoisemaker, had slipped from my grasp and was carelessly rolling
about, amplifying the throbbing ache in my head.
“What happened?” I grumbled irritably, my head pounding relentlessly as I
struggled to pry open my eyes. Downing an entire bottle had certainly numbed
my thoughts, yet it had been a welcreprieve, offering a few precious hours
of respite from the insomnia that had plaguedover recent days.
“Alpha… Sky…” Ken stammered, his words catching in his throat, his breaths
labored. Instantly, my eyes shot open at the mention of my son.
“What about Sky?” I demanded, pushing myself into an upright position with the
support of my elbows, the dim evening light filtering into the room along with a
chill breeze.
“Sky has escaped!” Ken exclaimed, beads of sweat forming on his brow.
My eyes widened in disbelief. “HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!” I roared, leaping
up from the fioor to

charge out of my bedroom, Ken trailing closely behind.
“I’m baffied as well, Alpha. Just a little while ago, I received a mind–link from
one of the wolves guarding the border, reporting that they had spotted Sky
leaving,” Ken hastily explained.
I hurried into my office and accessed the concealed room with my fingerprint,
descending the staircase
to where I had last hidden Sky. Instead of finding him there, I was greeted by an
empty room, a huge gaping hole in the wooden wall that he had apparently
escaped through. The iron rod I had discarded lay nearby, confirming my worst
fears.
“Damn it!” I exclaimed, shutting my eyes tightly and clenching my fists at my
sides in frustration. It appeared that Sky had used the iron rod to breach the
wall, a detail I cursed myself for overlooking. My mind had been preoccupied
with the idea of clandestinely sending him away after he stumbled upon this
room and its forbidden contents. It hadn’t occurred tothat he might attempt
to escape on his own. Now, it was irrelevant. The crux of the matter lay in the
fact that Sky was privy to everything. He had beca walking repository of my
secrets.
“Find him,” I muttered, horror grippingas I ran my hands through my hair.
“FIND SKY!” I roared, whirling around to face Ken, who stood there silently,
failing to respond. “KEN! AREN’T YOU LISTENING TO ME? GO AND CAPTURE SKY-”
My words faltered when I noticed Ken’s unblinking stare, his motionless form
resembled a statue. “Ken…” I instinctively moved closer, only to realize that
although he was still breathing, his eyes were vacant, as if his mind had been
wiped clean, leaving behind a hollow shell of his former self.
“Ken…” I muttered, my skin breaking out in a cold sweat as a sinking sensation
settled in my stomach. Glancing around at my surroundings, I noticed a
palpable shift in the atmosphere. The night had taken on an eerie darkness, the
wind had ceased its gentle caress, it was now as still as death itself. It was as
though nature itself had been drained of its vitality, leaving behind a desolate
emptiness. Even my once- vibrant pack lay silent, their usual energy replaced by
an unsettling stillness, reminiscent of a barren wasteland.
This desolate lifeless scene was hauntingly familiar. I had witnessed it once
before, eleven years ago, when… he had arrived…
The partially shattered wall, already weakened by Sky’s earlier efforts, collapsed
completely before my eyes. I gasped in horror as I watched the wooden
fragments plummet to the ground in a cascade of ash. Through the swirling fog
that enveloped the room, a menacing silhouette emerged, its presence

foreboding and dangerous.
A tall, imposing figure materialized from the haze, just as it had in the past. The
face that greetedwas hauntingly familiar—handsyet sinister, with a pair
of eyes that seemed to belong to different worlds. Locked in a chilling stare with
mine, I involuntarily took a step back, my heart pounding in
terror.
After eleven long years, he had returned…
“Long tno see, Benjamin,” Dark declared, his voice resonating with a depth
that held no trace of
emotion.
I immediately sank to my knees, bowing my head in deference. “Greetings, Alpha
Dark. What an
unexpected visit…”
“Unexpected?” He interrupted, stepping into the room crushing the debris of
the shattered wall beneath his feet. “I daresay you must have anticipated my
arrival from the moment you learned about
the first mysterious attack and fire.”
His shiny shoes cto a halt just inches from where I knelt, sending a surge of
fear through my veins. Deep down, I knew he had returned the moment I caught
wind of those enigmatic fires and the reports. of decimated packs. With
trembling limbs, I forced myself to meet his gaze, his dark countenance akin to
the Devil emerging from the depths of hell itself.
“Alpha…”
“How dare you hide my Rose fromfor all these years?!” Dark roared, his fury
palpable as he delivered a punishing kick to my stomach. My b*dy was sent

ground, blood erupting from my mouth as I gasped for air. It felt as though
every breath was a struggle, my insides threatening to spill out from the force of
his blow.
Still reeling from the previous blow, I felt his powerful merciless grip on my hair
as he yanked my head back with such force that it threatened to tear my hair
from my scalp. “Did you think I was playing games with you, Benjamin?” he
growled, dangerously close to my face, his mismatched eyes piercing into my
soul. “Have you lived long enough that you dare to provoke me?”
“I… I didn’t hide her… from you…” I struggled to speak through the agony, my
voice barely above a

whisper amidst the pain and the looming threat of having my n*ck snapped.
“I’ve been… protecting her for you… just as you commanded…” Tears mingled
with the blood from my scalp, staining my face crimson. I screamed in anguish,
my nails clawing at the ground, offering no solace as Dark showed not
even a hint of mercy.
“What a worthless guard dog you’ve become, Benjamin,” Dark sneered, releasing
my hair and stepping away to confront the frozen figure of Ken. “Under your
watch, she’s been knocked up, mated, and marked by another male,” he
declared, his words piercing through the air like a dagger.
I watched him through eyes blurred from pain and fury as he lit a cigarette, his
actions a cruel mockery of my suffering. “You’re nothing but a waste of air now,
Benjamin,” he spat, taking a drag from the cigarette before extinguishing it on
Ken’s head. Instantly, Ken’s entire b*dy ignited in fiames.
“No…”
“I shook my head, my eyes widening like those of an owl as I witnessed Ken’s
demise unfold
before me. “Noooo…. KEN!” I screamed at the top of my lungs over the loss of
my best friend, only to
turn mute when Dark looked atwith the corner of his
eyes.
“There’s no need to be so loud. You’re next,” Dark remarked coldly, his words
sent a chill down my spine. It was clear that he intended to end my life as well.
“PLEASE, FORGIVE ME!” I pleaded desperately, crawling at the ground to grasp at
his legs. In the corner of my mind, I knew that this day had been coming. That’s
why I had wanted to send Sky abroad, “Please, don’t kill me. Spare my pack.
Please…” Tears streamed down my face as I begged incessantly. He simply
stepped aside, causing my hands to slip off of him.
I watched as Dark’s gaze shifted to the old photos adorning the walls, his
recognition evident as he tore one of them down with his claws. “I allowed you
to fiee, Rose, even though you betrayedwith another man. Yet, despite
encounteringagain, you chose to fiee once more. Why are you playing games
with me?” he seethed, crushing the photo in his grasp.
As fiames of anger consumed him, the other photos hanging on the wall ignited
one by one. “Now, I will engage in one final gwith you before you crawl
back to me,” he ominously announced.
