Carmella’s palm was sweating as she held her phone, “Grandpa, I just graduated, and I don’t want to
date yet.”
Terrence went silent for a moment, his voice tumed gloomy. “Carmella, business hasn’t been good for

Carmella cried even harder. “He’s divorced, and he physically abused his wife. If I marry into the
Franco family, I won’t survive. I’ve just graduated from college and have so many dreams I don’t want
to get married, let alone marrying into the Franco family!”
Estelle asked, “Do Mom and Dad know?”
Carmella pitifully cried, “No. Grandpa doesn’t want me to tell them. He said the Macclain family raised
me for more than twenty years and that I should give back. Sister, please help me!”
Estelle said, “How can I help you?”

In the evening, close to six o’clock, the Macclain family driver took Carmella to Serenity Heights.
Carmella told the driver to park across the street, but she didn’t get out of the car, instead staring at the
entrance of the restaurant
At exactly six oclock, she saw Estelle getting out of a taxi and heading inside
She stared at Estelle’s back and slowly started to smile.
