Chapter 206
Estelle turned around and left the flower vine, glancing back at the closed door behind her Instead of
going back to her room, she headed to the front yard. Old Mr. Jarvis’s mom still had lights on Estelle
knocked gently on the door and soon heard someone say, “Come in!”
Estelle opened the door, beaming, “You’re not asleep yet, Old Mr. Jarvis?”
Old Mr. Jarvis was reclined in his chau listening to music. He sat up and turned off the phonograph,
glancing at her and grumbled, “Had too much coffee, I can’t sleep!”
Estelle sighed. “Seems like you weren’t waiting for me and don’t want to see me. I’ll go back to sleep
then”
As she turned to leave, the old man shouted before her hand could reach the door, “Come back here,
you!”
Estelle giggled, turned back, and asked obediently. “The last time we video chatted, you had a
coughing fit, are you better now?”

huffed.
Estelle sat down next to him and got him a glass of water, “You know about my relationship with
Jonathan. It’s not appropriate for me to come back. Besides, didn’t I promise you I’d come back after
finishing my part time job?”
Old Mr. Jarvis snorted, “What’s the deal between you and him? You’re set on being together even
though the engagement is over. What are you really after?”
Estelle leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand, “Being with him is really fun. Didn’t you always tell
me, as long it’s enjoyable, go for it?”
“Being happy isn’t just about having fun for a moment. True happiness is long–lasting, Old Mr. Jarvis
said with a heavy heart.
“If you genuinely love him, I’ll personally handle the matters with the Lamont family, Don’t worry about
your own accomplishments, being Vince’s granddaughter would suffice for marrying into their family!
Old Mr. Jarvis exclaimed.
Estelle chuckled, responding, “Grandpa, I haven’t even finished my university studies yet. Don’t you
think you’re getting ahead of yourself?”
Old Mr. Jarvis grumbled, “What were you thinking when you agreed to marry into the Lamont family for
the sake of the Macclain family?”
Knowing how upset Old Mr. Jarvis was about this matter, Estelle didn’t argue but just admitted her
mistake and put on an obedient act.
“You’ve always been like this!” Old Mr. Jarvis angrily said.
When she was little, he couldn’t bear to scold her as she looked pitiful, and he would let her have her
way in everything. Now that she’s grown up, she wouldn’t argue back and would be well behaved, but
she had already made up her mind and would do as she pleased.
“It’s because of your spoiling that I’m like this!” Estelle chuckled, changing the topic “Will my brother be
coming home this year?”
“I have no idea where he’s gone! I haven’t been able to get in touch with him for a month!” Old Mr.
Jarvis took a sip of coffee and cleared his throat, “He’s already told me earlier that he’s giving you all

the business and wealth. He’s got no hold over you nor me, and we shouldn’t worry about him either
Estelle’s eyes hardened with determination. “I don’t need it! The money I make is enough to support
myself, and my brother will return eventually!”
“You’re all as stubborn as mules, and it’s incredibly frustrating! Old Mr. Jarvis leaned back, rubbing his
forehead. “I’m relieved you’re not under my care, or I’d age ten years faster!”
Estelle giggled “Of course we’re just like you, Old Mr. Jarvis!”
“Bullshit” Old Mr. Jarvis roared with laughter, “I never worried people like you do!”
Estelle moved closer and rested her head on his shoulder, ‘Just take care of yourself, grabdpa. My
brother and I will take care of ourselves, you don’t need to worry about us.”
This time, Old Mr. Jarvis didn’t say anything else but patted her head, “I’m not worried about Gabriel
Cames, but I worry about you. Jonathan is just like his dad – cunning and deceptive even though he
doesn’t show it. Be careful!”
As for Estelle, she appeared calm and collected, but Old Mr. Jarvis knew that deep down, she was
simple and innocent.
