Chapter 105
Fiona squared her shoulders, her glare fixed on the hooded man. "You promised to letgo, she said. Her gaze
shifted to Romero, who now lounged against the pillows, a dark robe draped over his broad shoulders.
Romero's presence hilled the room with an air of dominance-something that Fiona disliked. His features, now
fully illuminated, were sharply defined his jawline strong, his cheekbones high, and his piercing brown eyes
alight with a dangerous spark. His hair, still tousled from his tunconscious, framed his face in a way that only
added to his smug demeanor. The tattoos across his chest and neck seemed to pulse faintly under the fabric of
his robe, like living shadows coiled beneath his skin.
Romero smirked, his gaze leisurely sweeping over Fiona. "He may have promised," he said, gesturing lazily
toward the hooded man. "But | didn't"
Fiona's expression hardened, her jaw tightening as she turned to the hooded figure. "You said your word bound
this agreement," she said. "Sos something."
The hooded man remained silent, his gaze darting briefly between Fiona and Romero. A faint shrug of his
shoulders was his only response.

Romero chuckled, sitting up straighter and leaning forward slightly, his elbows resting on his knees. "My word is
the law in these walls," he said, his smirk widening. "And | don't recall giving it
Fiona's frown deepened. She met Romero's gaze unflinchingly. "So the great Rogue King has no regard for honor?
For all your power, you're nothing but a liar?"
falter. "Careful, healer. You're speaking to the man who decides whether you walk out of here
Romero's eyes darkened, though his smirk didn't fal alive."
Fiona took a step closer. "And you're speaking to the woman who just saved your life. You owe me. Unless, of
course, the mighty Rogue King is too proud to admit his life was in my hands."

Romero's smile froze briefly before shifting into something colder, more calculating. "Owe you?" he said, leaning
back. "You chere to repay a debt that was made by the one who harmed me. Don't confuse my survival with
your charity"
"Charity?" Fiona raised an eyebrow, her head tilting slightly as she regarded him. "That's rich, coming from a
man who's spent the last month sleeping off a poison he couldn't handle. Without me, you'd still be rotting in
that bed."
For a while, Romero's expression was unreadable. Then, to Fiona's surprise, he laughed-a low, mocking sound.
"You're bold," he said, his gaze sharpening. "Most people tremble in my presence, yet here you are, arguing with
here | thought the Rogue King was supposed to inspire respect."
Romero's jaw tightened briefly, the only sign her words had struck a nerve. He leaned forward again, his eyes
locking onto hers. "You should tread carefully, healer. My patience has limits."
"So does mine. You're welcto test it, but I'm warning you now-y
now-you won't like the results"
The room fell into a tense silence as the hooded man shifted slightly, his gaze flicking between the two, but he
said nothing.
Romero studied Fiona for a long moment, his lips curving into a faint smirk once more. "You're different," he said,
almost to himself. "Most would have begged by now."
"Most," Fiona said, raising an eyebrow. "Aren't Rosenthals"
Romero's smirk deepened, though his eyes gleamed with something unreadable. "No, they're not. Perhaps that's
why I'll allow you to stay-for
now.
Fiona's eyes narrowed. "Allowto stay? | don't recall Lasking for y
your permission"
"You're in my domain, healer. Everything that happens here is by my will. Don't forget that."
Fiona tilted her head, her smirk mirroring his. "And don't forget who kept that will from disappearing altogether.
You might want to rethink how you treat the person who just pulled you back from the edge." Romero said
nothing for a moment, his snurk fading into a thoughtful expression. The tension in the room didn't case, but
there was a flicker of something in his gaze-respect, curiosity, or perhaps both. "Do you think | wouldn't dare kill
you because you saved me?" he asked.
"Do you think | was stupid enough to save you without leaving myself a way out?" she snapped back.

Chapter 105
Almost immediately, the Rogue King's face twisted with anger. Seeing this, Fiona smirked. "Did you forget why
you were unconscious? Or should | remind you how a Rosenthal's blood made you that way?" His gaze narrowed
at her. The pressure in the room suddenly shifted. "You poisoned me."
"Did P?" Fiona smiled
She watched as the hooded man approached the Rogue King and touched his wrist. "There is nothing there," the
hooded man
"Nothing that you can detect. Fiona smiled.
"If you've done something to me, you'd better undo it now," he growled.
"Poisoning someone, healing them, or even killing them with just a touch-it's all within my reach Fiona didn't
flinch. "Do you think | would just heal you without assurance that | can still leave this place alive?"
The room seemed to hum with tension as Romero's piercing eyes narrowed, and the air felt heavier, as though

Fiona shrugged "Remove what, exactly? If our hooded friend here claims there's nothing, maybe there truly was
nothing. Or."-her eyes shifted to the cloaked figure-"Perhaps there's something even a witch can't detect."
The hooded figure moved closer to Romero, his fingers delicately probing Romero's wrist, "She's right," he
confirmed after a moment. "There's no trace of anything unusual. But she's a Rosenthal. Her kind could-" He
stopped when he saw Romero's expression. "What did you do!!" Romero asked.
Fiona smiled, taking a small step forward. "You're questioning the wrong things, Rogue King. Did | poison you? Or
am | simply reminding you that
I can?"
His hands gripped the chair's armrests as his expression twisted into one of restrained fury. "You play
play a dangerous game, healer"
Fiona's smirk widened. "I didn't chere to play games. | cbecause | wanted to meet the infamous Rogue
King-the one who made the villagers suffer, who destroyed their homes without mercy. | wanted to see what kind
of man would justify such cruelty" "You cwillingly!" It wasn't exactly a question. By now, the Rogue King
knew Fiona wasn't afraid of him.
"Did you think | was dragged here because | had no choice? Your Arlen barely held herself together when she
stepped foot in that enchanted room. let alone had the strength to truly compel me. | agreed to cbecause |
wanted answers. And | wanted to see for myself if the great Rogue King was worth the trouble he's caused"
Romero's face twisted further, his anger bubbling beneath the surface. "You dare mock me? The Rogue King?" he
said, his voice heavy

"Remember this, Rogue King" Fiona held her ground, stepping even closer to the bed. "I saved you because |
