Chapter 706 The Obedient Cordelia
For the first time, Cordelia realized that Emrys had already grown into a mature young
man.
She had never had that feeling before.
Even before, when Cordelia found out that Emrys was actually the Empyrean Lord, she
never had such a feeling. She was just silently proud of him.
Deep down, she still regarded him as her little brother, intending to look after him.
Until that moment, when Emrys‘ hand touched her head, and she saw his indulgent
expression, Cordelia suddenly realized that Emrys had grown up so much.

And so Cordelia did not retort, resist, or continue to feign aloofness. Instead, she behaved
like an obedient little girl, allowing the man she loved to stroke her head gently.
A sense of happiness overflowed in her heart.
Repeated head pats was incredibly impactful for a girl.

Emrys saw right through it at a glance.
That heartwarming scene didn’t last long. Suddenly, a grave voice rang out, shattering the
atmosphere. “Rys!”
Just then, Yelena hastily burst in.
When Emrys had returned, Yelena was present. She even joined

Earlier, Emrys‘ attention was entirely focused on Ninette, so he didn’t pay much attention
to other things. It couldn’t possibly be that his sisters needed to seek his opinion before
they stepped out, right?
It was at that moment that he noticed something seemed off about Yelena’s expression.
Following Yelena’s sudden entrance, Cordelia instantly transitioned from her previous
obedient demeanor, reverting back to her aloof and authoritative persona.
Emrys inwardly lamented with regret.
After much difficulty, the proud Cordelia finally let her guard down, transforming into a
gentle little girl. However, Yelena’s intrusion completely shattered that harmonious
atmosphere.
Emrys couldn’t help but glare fiercely at Yelena.
However, he noticed her expression was serious.
He then asked, “Lena, what were you doing outside just now? Why do you have such a
serious expression? Did someone offend you?”

“Lena, please don’t scare me. I’m frightened.” Ninette was hanging onto Emrys, to begin
with.
Upon hearing Yelena’s words, ‘she immediately clung to him even tighter. Her small head
rested on Emrys‘ shoulder as she looked around nervously.
Yelena spoke without hesitation. “Ninette, stop pretending. If you want to take advantage
of Rys, just say it. After all, you were once barely considered a war reporter. There’s no
way you’re such a coward.”
