Chapter 420

“Okay,” Olivia agreed. “I’ll give you an answer.”

The corners of Huntley’s mouth twitched, and a hint of mockery flashed across her eyes.

“How long will it take?” she asked.

Before Olivia could answer, Huntley continued, “I can’t wait for too long. Seven days. I’ll give you seven

days.”

Olivia nodded and then left with Elena.

The early spring wind was a little chilly. Wrapped in a cashmere coat, Olivia lowered her head slightly

to bury her ears in the fluffy collar.

Her pace was neither fast nor slow as she was walking steadily.

Elena followed behind her and asked worriedly, “Miss Taylor, are we still going to test Kaira?” She

thought it was the hardest to gauge a person’s thoughts. Initially, they had come to Ritchfield to find a

way to save Isaac.

Elena did not expect that they would have to deal with such a melodramatic incident.

She found the whole situation quite vexing because it was like a tangled mess. Once they unraveled a

knot, another one would appear.

“You silly girl.” Olivia chuckled. Her beautiful eyes were bright and lustrous. She stopped in her tracks

and turned to look at Elena. Her voice was soft as she enunciated each word clearly, “When we do

things, we can’t just follow our feelings. That will be too reckless and can easily lead to bias.”

“What do you mean?” Elena did not quite understand.

Olivia raised her hand and lightly tapped the tip of Elena’s nose with her fingertip. She said gently,

“Actually, Kaira’s thoughts are not important at all. What matters is Huntley’s conception.”

Elena was stunned and subconsciously raised her head, staring blankly at Olivia. She was a little

confused and did not grasp what Olivia meant.

Olivia lifted an eyebrow, her gaze cold and hard, yet piercing. “The key to this. matter is Huntley. We

need to understand what she hopes for. If she hopes that. Kaira was forced, then Kaira was forced. If

she hopes that Kaira acted of her own accord, then Kaira acted of her own accord.

I’ll give her whatever answer she wants.”

“As for what Kaira was actually thinking, it doesn’t matter at all.”

Elena was dumbfounded. Her mouth parted in silent surprise as she looked at Olivia in bewilderment.

“So things could be understood in this way?”

She had never considered the situation from this perspective.

Olivia provided her with a different angle that opened up her mind.

O at vouchers

Elena took a deep breath and caught up with Olivia who was walking in front of her. In doubt, she

asked, “Miss Taylor, I’m not sure if this a good idea.”

“Silly girl.” Olivia shook her head. “Are you trying to say that if Huntley hopes that Kaira acted of her

own accord but the truth is Kiara was forced by Maximus, wouldn’t it be unfair to Kaira?”

“Yes, yes, that’s what I’m trying to say.” Kaira nodded violently.

Olivia’s eyes curved as she smiled. “Elena, you have to know that regardless of whether Kaira did it

willingly or not, the outcome is the same. She has hurt. Huntley. What’s done is done. There’s no point

in trying to figure out what was on her mind.

“Even if she was forced, it’s a pity. But she deserves to be punished.”

“Let’s go.” Olivia wrapped her coat tightly around her and nodded. “We’re going to see Kaira.”

Elena’s eyes lit up and she became excited. “Are we going to probe into her thinking and ask if she

acted of her own accord or was forced?”

“No.” Olivia shook her finger and said gently, “We’re going to save her. Elena, you have to remember

that we will always be on the side of justice. We have to be justified in our words and actions, so no

one can find any fault with us. Doesn’t

Maximus confine her and restrict her freedom?

“Then we are acting on the request of Huntley, the guardian, to rescue her.”

Elena was so thrilled that her heart was beating wildly. “Miss Taylor, you’re so amazing!”

Then, Captain Chavez drove them to the nearby Yebury City.

In the prime central business district of Yebury City, an apartment building across.

the street.

On the 54th floor, a man and a young woman entangled with each other on the big bed.

The woman had delicate features, and her waist was so slender that it looked as if it would break with a

snap.

“Let me go…” she pleaded.

The man’s eyes revealed a hint of evilness. He leaned in close to the woman’s ear and whispered,

“Behave yourself, or I’ll divorce your aunt.”

The woman compromised after hearing that

Listening to the woman’s feeble cries, Maximus’s burning desire grew stronger. It wasn’t until late at

night that he stopped torturing the woman and went to the bathroom.

After the shower, he wrapped a towel loosely around his waist. Maximus was 40 years old this year, but

time did not leave any traces on him. He had a refined appearance and his body was in excellent

shape with muscles on his waist and abdomen. The only sign of aging were two deep lines at the

corner of his eves. However, these two lines did not make him look old. Instead, they added to his

charm. He was like a bottle of fine wine which became more mellow with time.

When he came out of the bathroom, he subconsciously looked at the woman on the bed. His gaze

landed on her bruised shoulders, and his eyes suddenly darkened.

He pulled off the towel and pressed against the woman.

However, his phone rang at the most inopportune moment.

Maximus wanted to ignore it, but the phone kept ringing relentlessly.

His jaw tightened and his eyes were filled with anger. The minute he picked up the phone, he yelled,

“You’d better have something important to tell me. If not, this day next year will be your death

anniversary!”

The secretary trembled in fear and hurriedly said, “Mr. Eden, there’s a group of people requesting to

see you. They said your wife sent them and they wanted to take Ms. Nelson away.”

“My wife?” Maximus did not react for a moment and only remembered after a while. “You mean

Huntley?”

Kiara was lying on the bed with her head buried in the blanket. When she overheard her aunt’s name,

her ears twitched and her body subconsciously tensed

1. up.

Maximus noticed the young girl’s reaction. He curled his lips into a smile, finding her quite adorable.

“Just ignore them.” Maximus’s tone was indifferent, not taking the secretary’s words seriously.

He had long grown impatient with Huntley and only maintained his marriage. with her to keep Kiara

under his thumb. As time went on, he became more and more annoyed by Huntley. He made no effort

to hide his intimacy with Kaira. Recently, he had not even returned to Invana Village.

Huntley should have noticed since he didn’t attempt to hide his affair.

However, it was beyond Maximus’s expectations that she could put up with it for so long without

complaining or confronting him.

“Now, she called because she couldn’t take it anymore after seeing that I haven’t been home for a long

time.”

Thinking of this, a trace of disdain flashed across Maximus’s eyes. “She’s such a cheap woman. As

long as I’m willing to stay by her side and go back to see her from time to time, she can tolerate

anything.”
