Chapter 785

Hans was in so much pain that he instinctively let go. He was tossed aside before he could see the other party’s

face clearly.

He staggered a few steps back and barely managed to stand still. He held his slightly painful wrist and looked up.

What he saw was an exquisite face. The man stood tall and straight, and his aura was even more terrifying. At this

moment, he was not saying anything and was just standing there quietly. Yet, he emitted a terrifying aura that

deterred anyone from approaching from the depths of their bones. It pressed down on his heart for no reason,

making him unable to breathe.

Hans was slightly stunned when he saw David. Then, a flattering smile formed on his face. He walked toward David

and extended his hand to greet him. “You must be Mr. Jones, right? I’ve heard a lot about you.”

He did not feel awkward even though David did not react for a long time. Instead, he braced himself and introduced

himself. “I’m Hans Grey from the Grey family in Pollister. Nice to meet you, Mr. Jones.”

David acted as if he did not hear him. He wrapped his arms around Rachel’s slender waist and held her wrist with

his other hand. He frowned slightly when he saw the red marks that had yet to fade.

Hans awkwardly retracted his outstretched hand.

He was the best at flattery and observation. He acutely sensed David’s displeasure. His eyes darted around as if he

was thinking of a countermeasure.

Soon, he explained, “I’m not afraid of being laughed at by you. There was a misunderstanding between us. We

didn’t say much before we started arguing. In a moment of desperation, I wanted to teach her a lesson as her

father. I’m sorry you had to see that.”

A chuckle escaped from David’s throat. It was curt, but it frightened Hans.

Hans felt his heart tighten. He held his breath and lowered his head. However, his gaze quickly swept past David’s

face as he secretly tried to figure out his thoughts.

However, David did not show his emotions on his face. It was really difficult to guess. what he was thinking.

However, Hans thought that no matter what, he was still Rachel’s father. It was only right

for a father to teach his child a lesson. Even if David was powerful, he could not interfere in the family matters of

others.

As soon as this thought appeared, he immediately felt a little more confident.

However, before he could puff out his chest, David’s cold voice rang out again, “Your father?”

Rachel’s eyes were calm, and the depths of her almond-shaped eyes flickered with a clear coldness. She replied

indifferently, “No.”

Upon hearing her answer, Hans’s originally flattering expression instantly collapsed. He stared at Rachel with a

sinister gaze and gritted his teeth as he scolded coldly, “Rachel Grey, do you know what nonsense you’ve said! How

dare you disown me as your father in front of outsiders? You’re unfilial!”

Hearing this, David raised his head and looked over.

His lethal gaze was like a sharp blade pressed against Hans’s throat, instantly quelling Hans’s arrogance.

Hans looked at the man in front of him. His heart quivered and felt like it was being pinched by someone. He

opened his mouth but could not say a word for a long time.

“I’ve never heard you mention anything about your father before. I just assumed that he was dead,” David said

unhurriedly. His voice was as cold as winter frost, with a sharpness. that made one shudder. “You haven’t contacted

each other all these years. It’s better for you to quietly be “dead”, right?”

His tone was very calm, but there were layers of frost and danger under his calmness.

Hans looked up at David.

The moment their eyes met, he couldn’t help but shiver.

His intuition told him that David would definitely break his neck if his answer did not satisfy him.

He smiled awkwardly. Before he could say anything, David had already turned around and -left with Rachel. He had

her waist in his arms.

Who knew when he would see Rachel again if she left?

Thinking of this, Hans chased after them anxiously. “Rachel, I haven’t finished talking to you!”

No matter what, he had to make Rachel agree to help the Grey family tide over this crisis.

However, a figure suddenly blocked his path.

Eddie looked at him with a faint smile. “Mr. Grey, if I were you, I would stay in Pollister and never appear in front of

Miss Grey again for the rest of my life.”

Even he felt bad for Miss Grey when he encountered such a shameless father.

He had not asked about Rachel all these years, but he was so eager to reach out to her now that he saw that he

could benefit from her. Rachel was really unlucky to have such a father.

His tone was nonchalant, but there was a threat in them.

Hans stared straight at Eddie and clenched his fists tightly by his sides.

Even though he was unwilling, he had no choice but to swallow his anger.

Eddie curled his lips in disdain. He raised his hand to brush away the nonexistent dust on his body and turned to

leave.

Meanwhile, Hans could only grit his teeth and watch them leave.

In his opinion, David was the only reason Rachel was so arrogant.

What right did she have to still be arrogant without David?

Since this daughter of his was disobedient, he could only look for the obedient one.

On the other side, Rachel could not help but ask after they got into the car, “Why are your

here?”

Normally, she would be very happy to see him.

However, she felt inexplicably frustrated that she allowed Hans and David to meet.

She felt as if the treasure she had been carefully hiding had been coveted by a thief.

Seeing that she was not in a good mood, David thought that Rachel did not want to see him. His expression could

not help but turn cold. “You don’t want to see me?”

“I could do either way,” replied Rachel.

Hearing this, David’s eyes narrowed slightly, and a dangerous cold light flickered in them.

Eddie, who was sitting in the front row, could clearly feel the sudden chill in the car. He cleared his throat slightly

and braced himself. “Miss Grey, Mr. Jones has pushed back a

very, very important meeting to see you.”

He thought, “When had Mr. Jones ever put in so much effort for a woman? However, she doesn’t appreciate it at all.

“Does she not know how to cherish what is at her fingertips?”

“If you’re busy, why did you come out to see me?” Rachel looked at David.

It wasn’t that she didn’t appreciate it, but she just couldn’t figure out why David would do

that.

Previously, they had exchanged phone calls and established that they were both very busy. They had expressed

their understanding.

Moreover, they would have plenty of time to be together after they were done with their work. There was no need

to rush and postpone a very important meeting.

David grabbed her chin with his well-defined fingers. He bent down and his cold breath. assaulted her face. “Rachel,

do you know what you look like now?”

Rachel raised her eyebrows slightly. “What do I look like?”

David snorted. “A heartless woman!”

She was the one who said that she wanted to see him, but he was rejected when he delivered herself to her door.
