"Watch out!" In an instant, Frederick reached out and pulled Alicia back as he shielded her. Just then, Alicia accidentally stepped into the gap between the tiles and a loud crack cfrom her feet.

Even though both of them had reacted quickly, the hot water had still gotten onto Frederick's arms and wrists. He was burnt and his skin instantly reddened. On the other hand, even though Alicia had avoided it, sof the droplets had splashed onto her arms and it was painful. Her face paled from fright.

"What's wrong with you? Who is this? How could anyone just enter this party?" As Frederick stood before Alicia to protect her, he was in a rage. Just then, the woman was already being held down by security guards. However, she was struggling with all her might and her face was contorted into an ugly expression with all the heavy makeup. Her eyes reddened as she glared at Alicia.

"You shameless b*itch! You sl*t! You seduce men and destroy other people's relationships.

Go to hell!" "You are so despicable and shameless! Do you think that if you dress like her and destroy others' relationships, you'd be happy? Someone send her to the police station right away!" As soon as Frederick flared up in anger, several others immediately becfrightened. Trevor walked up to him and pulled on his sleeves.

"It seems like she's the daughter of the Lopez family who got divorced. Her ex-husband cheated on her and even married the woman he was cheating on her with before moving overseas. Her life was perfect when she was still married but after the divorce, she had been suffering a lot. I think it's because she couldn't let go of her own problems and was depressed. I've heard that the Lopez family has been looking for suitable candidates for her, I'm guessing that she's here today for that as well! Maybe something triggered her." Frederick could still feel the stinging pain from his arms. He was completely enraged and couldn't care less about things like that.

"I don't care how pitiful she is! Why should I pay the price for what a lunatic has done? Send her to the mental hospital! If no one wants to do so, then forgiveif I do things my way!" If the hot water had been splashed onto Alicia, how could her sensitive skin take it? As Frederick thought of it, he grew even more vexed.

He turned around and wrapped Alicia in his arms. He then checked her face and asked, "Were you hurt?" Alicia shook her head then suddenly thought of something. She quickly reached for his arms and asked hurriedly, "Your hands are all red! Do they hurt?" She instinctively blew on his hand.

Frederick pinched Alicia's face and kissed her forehead. "It's fine, good thing you didn't get hurt. I will never let anyone hurt you." For the first time, Frederick suddenly realized that the hidden marriage had caused her to be wronged. For an instant, he thought of something but too many problems in real life made him swallow his promise back again.

Just as Alicia held marriage in high regard, it was equally important to Frederick as well. In this relationship, he actually wasn't too confident in their love. He always believed that a relationship wasn't supposed to be a quick show of fireworks but instead something that was slowly growing over the years.

At this moment, Frederick thought that their relationship was more like the former. He was afraid that he had been overly excited or that his rationality had been swallowed by his wants.

After a few seconds, he said, "Let's go back!" "Okay! It must be very painful, you have to apply smedication soon!" Alicia almost cried as she held his hand.

As they started walking, Alicia felt a shot of pain from her ankle. She groaned, "Ouch—" "What happened?" Frederick lifted the hem of her dress to check on her ankles and found that one of them was slightly swollen. He stood up and carried her in his arms. "Hubby-" Alicia was shocked as she hid her head in his arms. "Letdown, I can walk by myself!" There were so many people present and it was so embarrassing. She hoped that this would not make the headline the next day.

"Don't force yourself. You would not be able to get out of bed if you injure your bone." With just one sentence, Alicia instantly fell quiet. She couldn't even afford to hurt for three days, let alone three months.

Alicia tried to hide herself in Frederick's arms as she curled herself into a ball.

Frederick carried her straight to the guest room and the servant brought him sointment. Frederick checked on her ankle, then massaged it slightly before applying sointment.

"Fortunately, you didn't hurt your bone! I think you just sprained your ankle and the swollen part might get better tomorrow. If it doesn't get better tomorrow, we will go to the hospital. Try to move your ankle and see if it hurts." Alicia shook her head and breathed a sigh of relief. "I can bear with the pain, I think it should be fine." She then checked on Frederick's hand and saw there was a large area of burnt marks. She carefully applied the ointment for him.

"Today is such an unlucky day! It was supposed to be a happy day but we had to suffer for noveason Hubby, what about your arm? Did you get hurt there too? What a lunatic! If it was acid, we would be in much more trouble." Alicia rolled up his shirt and felt so angry and aggrieved that she almost burst into tears.

"She wouldn't have managed to bring something like acid here. Don't worry! It's good that you're fine. I'm not hurt at all, it's no big deal!" Frederick then held her face as he looked into her eyes.

"But, in the future, you must be careful, don't let your guard down even if they are strangers: You've got to learn to protect yourself. Leave as soon as you feel that something's not right, okay?" "Okay!" Just then, the servant brought in another suit. "Mr. Frederick, this is the suit of Mr. Trevor, he madebring you a new one." After they finished changing, they didn't stay any longer. It was supposed to be a happy evening but so many things had happened and Alicia was caught off guard.
