"The offer from Sacred Wrym Summit sure is tempting." Dustin nodded in agreement.
Then, he suddenly said, "But I'm more interested in the person in front of me, so I'll have to apologize to you all." Everyone was shocked to hear this, finding it difficult to believe. They couldn't understand why Dustin would refuse such an opportunity.
They found it baffling. It was an opportunity that could change someone's fate. Opportunities like this didn't cknocking often, yet Dustin brushed it off like it was nothing.
They couldn't help but wonder if he had lost his mind.
"What's wrong with you, Dustin? Why would you turn down such a golden opportunity?" Miles asked, bewildered.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIf it were him, he would be jumping for joy. But Dustin's refusal seemed to go against the natural order of things, leaving Miles scratching his head.
"It seems Dustin thinks that the value of that assassin leader is higher than the favor from Sacred Wrym Summit," Dalen remarked thoughtfully.
"What? What value could that assassin possibly have? He's just a villain," Ruby dismissed.
"Ruby, things aren't always as they seem. If that person truly had no value, would Sacred Wrym Summit had their eyes on him?" Crystal said cryptically.
Sacred Wrym Summit usually stayed out of worldly affairs, but their decision to capture Predator hinted at something out of the ordinary.
They suspected that Dustin's relentless pursuit was fueled by his insight into the underlying reasons behind it.
"Pal, you're making it really difficult for me." Caleb shrugged helplessly.
He figured a few smooth words would sway Dustin. Unexpectedly, Dustin was stubborn and had zero regard for the prestige of Sacred Wrym Summit.
Caleb couldn't help but find it both amusing and infuriating.
"Sacred Wrym Summit has quite the reputation. Surely, it wouldn't bother with a nobody like me." Dustin smiled, putting on a humble act.
Caleb replied, "I don't know about you, but dealing with the old man back hcan be a hassle. If we don't bring this guy back today, I'll never hear the end of it." He scratched his head, seeming to have an idea, then added, "How about we make a bet? Whoever wins gets to take this guy away.
"That way, we won't damage our relationship, nor will we have to rack our brains. What do you say?" "What are we betting on?" Dustin asked, amused.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"It's simple. We bet whether you can move this guy," Caleb said innocently.
He went on, "He's currently pinned down by my Divine Talisman. If you can move him, you win. If not, you lose.
"Of course, | won't make it too hard on you. You can ask for help, but you only get three chances. Are you game?" "Since you're so keen, I'll play along," Dustin agreed.
"Alright, it's settled then. Go ahead." Caleb gestured with one hand.
Behind him, two disciples of Sacred Wrym Summit exchanged knowing glances. They were well aware of the power of the Divine Talisman on Predator's back.
Dustin alone, much less everyone there, couldn't budge the Predator. Even the two disciples acknowledged that they were powerless against it.
"What's this little monk up to? Just moving a person, what's the big deal? Why would he deliberately bet like this? It's like he's conceding defeat?" Ruby wondered.
"You're mistaken, Ruby." Miles pointed at the yellow talisman on the Predator's back. "See that yellow talisman? That's the renowned Summit Shift Divine Talisman of Sacred Wrym Summit!" "The Summit Shift Divine Talisman? Is it really that powerful?" Ruby looked puzzled.
As someone new to the martial world, she certainly had sgaps in her knowledge.
"Of course, it's powerful!"
