An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1310
Harmony Healers didn’t earn much. They either treated the poor for free or only charged them the cost
price of the medications. Despite their reputation, they struggled financially.
One billion was an amount Harmony Healers would never earn in a lifetime. That was why Harper
thought there was no harm in betting on it. It could change their fortune dramatically.
“There are no absolutes in life. I will never allow you to risk Harmony Healers like that!” Brooke refused
to give in.
“Grandpa, why won’t you trust me?” Harper was getting frustrated.
“When those thugs were causing trouble, didn’t you stake Harmony Healers too? You even did it on
behalf of Dustin! Why are you willing to trust an outsider but not me? Why?”
Harper was practically yelling by the end of it.

difference,” Brooke explained with a frown.
“I don’t care!” Harper wasn’t listening to reason and was getting agitated. “Why is Dustin worth betting
Harmony Healers on, but not me? If you refuse to trust me today, I’m cutting ties with you!”
“You-” Brooke was exasperated. He was torn between anger and helplessness. Why was this child so
stubborn? Did she have to gamble her entire family fortune just to prove a point?
“Master Brooke, while Harper is acting impulsively, she isn’t entirely unreasonable.” Right then, Cody
spoke up for Harper.
“I know Lana. She’s not exactly smart. She’s no match for Harper, especially when it comes to literary
knowledge. I have absolute faith in Harper. She’s definitely going to win!”
“Exactly, Master Brooke. Harper is widely recognized as a prodigy, particularly in literature. She’s way
above that affluent woman!” Caldwell chimed in.
“Master Brooke, obtaining wealth often involves risks. If we win one billion, Harmony Healers can save
countless more lives. Think about the people who will benefit from it!”
The students voiced their opinions.
“I…” Brooke found himself wavering. He was in a tight spot. If he refused his granddaughter, she might
try something foolish. But if he agreed and she won the bet, it could resolve many of Harmony Healers’
issues.
For a moment, he found it difficult to make a decision. “Master Brooke, please agree. I’m willing to
vouch for Harper,” Cody requested with a personal plea.
“Since you put it that way, I’ll allow her to have her way this time.” After much hesitation, Brooke finally
relented. But he added with seriousness, “But this is a one-time exception. There will be no more next
time!”
“No problem.” Cody nodded.

You’re quite bold. But it’s a shame that you’re destined to lose.” Lana smirked.
“Lose? Hmph, what a joke! I know exactly what you’re made of. Your talent is a joke compared to
mine.”
Harper scoffed.
While she couldn’t claim to know Lana inside out, she understood her well enough from their four years
in university. It wasn’t an exaggeration to claim that her penmanship outshone Lana’s, even with her
toes.
“Since you’re so confident, let’s see what happens later. I just hope you won’t regret it.” Lana smiled
meaningfully before taking a seat at a nearby table with the man next to her.
After a while, the literary event hosted by Regal Court officially began.
