An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1269
In the blink of an eye, three days had passed. Hector’s funeral was over. His remains were stored in
the Harmons’ ancestral altar, where others could visit him.
So much had happened to the Harmons that the large and influential family was on the verge of falling
apart.
After the funeral, Andrew, who had stepped down as head of the family, called for a family meeting.
Everyone from the Harmon family was expected to be present.
At that moment, Andrew sat at the main seat in the Harmons’ meeting room. He held a cane in his
hands with a grave expression. The important members of the Harmon family sat on both sides of him.
Hector and Trent were dead, and Jacob was nowhere to be found. All his three sons were either dead
or missing, and the family had other problems to deal with, too.
The Harmon family was now without a leader, and there was also no unity between them. They were in

“I believe everyone is aware of everything that has occurred in the family recently. We’ve lost many of
us.
“But the dead are gone, and the living must go on. We have to get back on our feet fast. “The Harmon
family is currently in a critical situation. If we do not unite, the entire family will go down!”
Andrew’s speech stunned everyone.
“Sir, we understand that we’re all in this together. But, without a leader leading the family, and with all
the consecutive misfortunes that we’ve faced, it’d be difficult for us to rise from the ashes.”
“Exactly! The traitors have run off with our money recently. A large part of the Harmon fortune has been
stolen from us, and many more out there have their eyes on us in these difficult times. The Harmon
family is doomed!”
“He’s right! From how I see it, we might as well split whatever is left among ourselves and part ways.
This is the best way out for us.”
They all clamored among themselves on how they should proceed. Most of them had a negative
outlook and had lost all their motivation. Some even went as far as to suggest splitting up the family
fortune and parting ways.
“Silence! Silence!” Andrew banged his cane heavily on the ground to stop the chatters.
Then, he continued, “Though the Harmon family is currently facing some hardship, this will not be the
end of us. As long as we unite, there is bound to be a way out for us.”
“If you have any ideas, sir, tell us what you think,” someone said.
“What we need to do now is to choose a family head to organize and lead the family. As long as we
have a competent leader, we can restore the family to what it used to be,” Andrew said.
“A new family head?” Everyone looked around curiously as they speculated on who would be the
family’s next leader. Both Hector and Trent were now dead, and Jacob had gone missing. The second
generation of direct Harmon descendants were all out of the question.
Who would be eligible to take the position of the head of the family?

“There is only one person among us who can lead the family now. And that person is none other than
Natasha!” Andrew declared.
“Natasha?”
All eyes fell on Natasha at that. But as opposed to her usual charismatic self, Natasha now sat in
silence. She did not care for anything going on around her.
“As we all know, Natasha is exceptionally capable, and she is also entrepreneurial. All the companies
she started up in recent years are doing well and making good profits. She will have no problem
leading the Harmon family,” Andrew declared confidently.
“It is true that Natasha is capable. But she’s too young. I’m afraid there will be people who would not be
pleased to have her becoming the family head,” one of the older family members voiced his doubts.
“With the Harmon family’s current situation, we need a dynamic and decisive leader. Natasha suits the
position best. Her age does not matter.
“The family is a hair’s breadth away from perishing. We cannot be bothered by something as trivial as
her age!” Andrew said.
