Bryson continued smugly.
“So?” Cordy asked in return.
“So I’m above the rest!” Bryson snapped angrily, his voice getting ever louder.
Cordy smiled sardonically-this was genuinely amusing.
“Am I not here?” she asked.
Bryson was taken aback, but since he could tell that Cordy was mocking him, he quickly tried to puff
himself up with a sense of accomplishment. “You’re just benefiting from your connection to Sachs
Enterprises. On the other hand, I was personally invited.”

It was not only the Sachs either-the Jessops were nowhere to be seen, and they had reason to be

“Cordy Sachs!!!”
“I don’t have time to waste on you. As you will, Mr. Zimmer,” Cordy finished coolly and sidestepped him.
Bryson’s face contorted with rage from Cordy’s mockery, and he could not help intercepting her again.

“You mean, show you due diligence,” Cordy laughed, actually feeling amused in Bryson just then.
“We happen to know each other and are distantly related,” Bryson reasoned smugly. “I’m not that cold-

“And what do you think I should do?” Cordy asked, her smile getting wider since she just spotted a
certain man standing behind Bryson.
“Well, you see, our blind date has been pleasant. I was just too busy to ask you out on another date,
and that is my bad. However, it is destiny that we meet again today, which is why I’d like us to start
dating, and if you prove suitable, I can even marry you,” Bryson said, as if he was hard pressed.
Cordy said nothing and merely kept smiling.
